Multi-Car Insurance Woes
I'm being killed with auto insurance through Safeco and need to find something more reasonable. Currently I'm spending $9K a year on auto insurance alone.
We have six cars with 4 in one location and 2 in another state. One is a 1970 classic Mustang insured through AIG and is very reasonably priced. The others range in value from the 997 GT3 down to a $20K pickup. There are only 2 drivers and collectively we probably only drive 15-20K miles a year. Both of us have excellent driving records and credit. The GT3 listed as low miles per year (less than 2000).
What are folks doing in this situation? Or doesn't the premium sound reasonable?

Move the GT3 over to a speciality policy. I have all of my "fun" cars with Hagerty.

I was with AAA and they charged each car with a policy. I then switched to Liberty Biberty 100/300 policy and now I only pay for what I need. Total for me to insure:
2007 GT3 RS - 1,000 miles per year
2008 Audi RS4 - 1,000 miles per year
2011 Cayenne Turbo - 15,000 per year
2022 Audi Etron Chronos - 15,000 per year
is little under $3,500 per year.

Last year I was at $11k annually for six car but with two teenage drivers here in N.Cal. Clean/cleaned records. We paid for each teen's minor accidents and made sure they completed traffic school when they got a moving violation. My daughter was caught going 94 in a 65! Premium actually dropped this year so nice break until my 15 year gets his license.

Check with American Family, as a good agent can get Agreed Value Policies on the high end stuff and if some vehicles sit for long periods and there are no loans on them you can do storage policies. With multi car discounts , and your house you likely can drop that quite a bit.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I use Cincinnati Financial for my agreed value policy. Ended up being much more reasonable than Hagerty and with far fewer restrictions.

I use Grundy for my GT3 and Progressive for the rest. Very good prices and coverages.

I use Porsche Auto Insurance for our GT3 and Allstate for our other vehicles, home and umbrella. Insurance prices have gotten crazy now.

I just added an e36 m3 to my grundy policy and it saved me $151 a year! I already had two vehicles on the existing policy and the third triggered a multi-car discount.

Ha, amazing. That would short circuit my wife's brain.

Same here. Two cars on Grundy agreed value policies and fairly painless to set up. Have had Hagerty and State Farm agreed value policies in the past and they are good to deal with as well, albeit significantly more expensive when I compared vs Grundy.

I've had my 996 GT2 along with another car insured with Haggerty with agreed value for the past 3 years, I bought a '14 McLaren 12c 50th Anniversary recently and they won't insure it until I've owned it for a year or owned a prior McLaren for a year. After adding the car to my policy I got a call from a very snooty sounding individual who's nose was so far in the air (yes, I could tell via phone conversation) telling me they don't insure McLarens unless someone has owned one prior for over a year. Good to see other options listed here, will check them out. Haggerty's price was great, $1500/yr for it, too bad I don't qualify for the "club" yet
