I went through this exercise last year, ended up putting the RS on Hagerty and everything else on progressive, I was Statefarm 5 years ago, Allstate for 3 years and now Progressive. I used to think I'd put the umbrella, houses, cars, jetskis, boat and trailers on one provider and it will save me something.... not even close, I left the house and Umbrella under Allstate when I moved the cars.

I run max deductibles on everything because even one accident forces me to move providers with the cars, but then again my kids cant use my stuff yet

Dont forget if you insure the Porsche under Hagerty to get your 5% discount for PCA, they wont remind you lol.

Thanks. We are similar to where you were. I have everything under Allstate boat, seadoos, 2 houses, umbrella. I'm going to go through the exercise of separating items for quoting purposes and see where I land. I feel like we are being robbed. I quoted the Porsche under Hagerty but they were 30% more than Grundy.

Good call I’ll check their rates this year to see if I can save something on the RS

The Porsches are at Hagerty, RS is at $215k with a $10k buy back ryder. So I’m gambling a bit but I assume if I crack it up I get to keep it and could part out the difference or turn it into a track car or something.

It starts to add up quick if you do full market price so I just do whatever I feel like I can live with. I think either my PCA or SCCA gives me a bit of a discount.
What is a buyback rider?

so you reach this agreement when you agree to the policy? What is the $10K in regards to, then? I ask the 1st question because I thought whether you buy back the car and at what price is a negotiating point after a covered event has occurred but fortunately I've never had to go through that process

I believe it’s an option on the policy.
Not sure about the $10k as I was under the impression it’s a %.

Here’s some info: https://www.hagerty.com/insurance/cl...lvage-coverage

Yea its an amount they agree to for the buy back, mine is $10k... they gave the option of $0, $30k... I don't remember why i did 10k but I think it sounded good at the time. My point was that I have like $25k into the exhaust and $20k into the seats alone, so i wanted the option of getting the car back even if they totaled it. She said they typically would usually give me the option of buying it back anyway but there wasn't an agreed 'number' and didnt know how much it would be. This car on Copart could easily get up to $100k prob so thats why I decided on it.

As an alternative they would easily insure it up to $270 if I asked to make up that difference, but that was significantly more expensive.

That's a lot of newer cars two teens have access to. When I talk to friends about insuring teenage drivers, I ask, what would you charge?

Ive got just over 20 cars with Hagerty in 2 states. No mileage restrictions, agreed values, but you have to have a "normal" daily driver also (no issue for us).

One note on Grundy, at least as of 2 years ago, they use a 3rd party for the claim process. My father had a ZERO fault accident, and he had a lot of trouble collecting. He switched his fleet to Hagerty because of it.
