Frustrating. My car's in the shop right now getting the lines pinned so I can't screenshot my durametric settings. Give me a PM in a few weeks if you haven't gotten it to work yet

So I turned off the following:

Passenger thorax airbag
Passenger seatbelt buckle
Driver thorax airbag
Driver seatbelt buckle
AWS

Turned key to off position, back to on without starting motor. Seems like airbag light blinks 10 times after each setting is changed. Waited for light to blink after each setting changed. Still stays on. Damn.

Any advice? Can’t get the airbag dash light to clear.

I was going to start on this… I set mine off last time I removed the seats also. I did check my PIWIS because I was worried the airbags were actually off, but the output says both airbags are active.

I didn’t read far enough in the forums to see ‘which’ thing we needed to switch. I have the same issue, a few blinks and then solid.

I checked my Durametric and I get the following error codes:

8040: Pass. Thorax Airbag incorrect coding
8048: Driver Thorax Airbag incorrect coding
8054: Pass Belt Buckle Short Circuit to B+
8055: AWS LIN no communication

I turned off all the other settings as previously recommended earlier in this thread as well.

I get something similar and my light also stays on (airbag co control module is next test ugh).

804F, 8050, C140 and C158

Ive gone through the PIWIS to diagnose and I’m getting closer, the first thing i had to do is clear the codes and see which and when they pop back up.

For others info IF you are unable to clear the fault in PIWIS
“Fault Memory -> Delete FML/F8” then the fault is active (wiring or bad module etc) and cannot be cleared. IF the faults do clear then it was prob just a bad seat/battery hookup after maintenance.

To systematically determine ‘what is causing the faults’ a shop (you already did this but I’m also currently in the process) will go down the list of culprits.

An example sequence procedure for unhooking the air bag potential warnings:Program car to ignore seat belt latches, thorax airbags and AWS until you figure out which one allows you to “clear” the code.
  • From the main PIWIS menu*
  • Select POSIP
  • Select CODING
  • Scroll down the list to find entries for driver and passenger thorax airbags and turn them to off/no.
  • Scroll down to find entries for AWS and driver and passenger seat belt buckles/seats. Toggle all*
  • Driver Thorax Airbag : No*
  • Passenger Thorax Airbag: No*
  • Driver Seatbelt Buckle: No*
  • Passenger Seatbelt Buckle: No*
  • AWS: No*
———-

I’ll post more as I start to diagnose… hopefully it’s not too hard because like you I already pressed all the easy buttons.

I've done it with my Durametric Pro, but is was many years ago. I remember it being finicky, but I recall turning both thorax and the AWS to NO then I believe you have to reset the instrument cluster after those selections.

yep that worked, after I set just AWS to no, wrote the code in. Then went back to Fault memory, the faults then cleared (delete fml) then went back in and set it back under “coding adaptations” AWS to yes. Airbag light is off now.

I have no idea how ppl work on these cars without a PIWIS, only one friend needs it…I have PIWIS parties with GT4s and GT3 friends lol… it’s def NOT intuitive but I’m getting better

Stupid question. How do you reset the instrument cluster? Erase the fault codes?

yep, but the fault codes wouldn’t erase when I had the AWS on…nvm you were talking about Durametric

There should be a command under the instrument cluster drop-down.

Would be great to collect all of this into a tutorial.

Just to confirm, you got it working with a PIWIS? Durametric?

Was anyone here successful with the Foxwell?
