Glad to have spent a little time with you last weekend @Elliotw44 . Your 3RS continues to look terrific, and of course our local weather is starting to wind down so we have to enjoy every chance we have with these great cars!

My understanding is that it was a prototype used to evaluate Ruby Stone as an optional color for the 997 GT3 RS when they were getting ready to launch the .2s. It sits in the Porsche Museum now.

Well, the good news is that I finally got my hands on OEM head gaskets. The car is undergoing the replacement and top-end rebuild. I decided to send the trans over to Bill Radar for a refresh as well. RR7 was awesome. What a fun journey down, and meeting tons of RL folks in real life was awesome. A few photos from my journey are below. In total, I added another ~2700 miles to the car. The car is just under 40k miles. Trying to get my hands on some GT2RS/4.0 Carbon fenders. They appear to be back ordered for the passenger side. If anyone has a set on hand, let me know. Also searching for a pair for Baron uprights.

at RR7 I could compare Baron and Salter in person. I prefer the Baron. Still like my Salter. Not sure I would sell them. Agreed bummed the timing didnt work out. I may be doing a road trip next year down to LA so thats another time for us to sync up.

Gotcha. I like the OEM height but sure would love to regain some visibility from the rear view.

Car is still offline. Transmission is over at Bill Radar's for a refresh. Waiting to start tear down of my Mezger. A 997 GT3 motor is ahead of me and going back together. Has the same issue(over pressurizing coolant system) but eventually had full cross contamination of oil and coolant. Picked up a few more parts while waiting. Refinished alcantara steering wheel, Cargraphic valve control kit, Kline Inconel setup(Stainless system will be for sale), 997 OEM Carbon fenders, and 997 FVD(OEM supplier) carbon hood. Over the summer of 2024 working with 9XX to fully retro fit the dynamic headlights.

Both 997s waiting

My engine on the stand waiting it's turn

My FVD "OEM supplier" Carbon hood just arrived. Specifically: FVD 511 987 9972K1
This version is to match the RS4.0 spec which is paintable exterior and exposed carbon interior. So it comes primed. There was a few small defects but my body shop(Porsche approved shop) says is normal for parts that is expected to be painted. None of these defects will be visible after prep and paint. Even the OEM carbon fenders I ordered had a few small defects as well. Which again wont show after prep and paint. This hood shipped cost ~33% of the OEM carbon hood. Been an excellent experience so far with FVD. Hoping the fitment is on point when I get to that stage.

Very cool... do you have the lithium battery? I'm curious how light you can make this without going crazy with Mag wheels etc. I took the porsche fluid bottle out of my lower right frunk slot because thats 2 lbs!

If he doesn't, he knows where to get one (ME!) as I'm an Antigravity dealer and local to him.
