I disconnected the battery last night, remember reading that's a way to reset the ECU. Maybe it's not fuel related. I connected the Durametric cable(enthusiast) and there were no codes but I did a clear all fault codes anyway.
I suppose if I had an O2 sensor problem I would have gotten a fault code. I don't think I've had misfires, and the enthusiast cable is probably limited compared to the Pro. I tried looking at actual values on the modules and while I can see some, I still don't know what I'm missing with the enthusiast cable and have been planning on getting the Piwis 3 clone or Launch Tech X431 Torque. They're not cheap but just a bit more than the Durametric Pro.

I'm due for ignition coils and will replace them hopefully this week-

So I drove quite a bit, added Chevron and the issue disappeared. Took a good drive his morning and a blast just now, no issues. I did disconnect the battery yesterday to see if it would help, but who knows. As far as gas goes, I usually favor Chevron and Mobil, but the list of top tier gas is pretty big. I also use Shell, depends on location and price, they're usually more expensive but I do recall a bad batch that made the news with cars that got damaged. I don't recall exactly what, maybe sulfur contamination or something. But this time I used Marathon, and it's top tier and perhaps the largest refiner-

So I wonder if a station can mess up and mix up gas in the tanks/pumps and 87 octane got in there???

you would imagine it’s possible. I hope it don’t. Drove a good 100 miles with fresh 92 from a chevron today no glitches. Brady winning his 7th ring cannot be undersold 🤙🏼

Bosch OBD1000 Bosch OBD1000
($45) and leave it in the glovebox for if it ever happens again.

Plan is to either get Piwis 3 or Launch Tech USA X431 Torque. Durametric enthusiast will be sold or I'll give it to a fried to reset oil/service interval
For my Audi I have Obdeleven on a tablet. It does maintenance, shows codes, you can code the car, etc. Very affordable but nothing of the sort available for Porsche.

Continued my tour of gas stations and went to Shell today to top off. I definitely think the Marathon switched gas in the pumps and I ended up with 87 or 89 octane mixed. I sure feel like dropping a few gallons of Sunoco 260 GT in the tank, though NA engines don't really benefit that much from 100 octane-

So I did not have bad fuel, and others might have what I just diagnosed on my car. I had a CEL because my car was taking too long to warm up due to a dead control-valve, next to the disc valve on the transmission.
Durametric did not detect a fault code.
Details on a new thread I made:

Let us know how you like the PIWIS3 if you go that direction and whether you go clone or genuine. I think the genuine is very expensive, so I'd guess you'd go clone? I'm going to eventually pick up a scan tool, would prefer to go with the authentic/genuine Durametric but it also is more limited in what it can do. Then again, not sure how I'd feel about connecting my car to a cloned software.

The PIWIS clone complete laptop is being widely used, check out the threads on rennlist.
I made a list of vendors and they are going down in price, around $1099 complete.

Here's the post from the thread. There is also a dedicated PIWIS thread if you search-Durametric Pro is also not worth the money compared to X431 Torque or PIWIS III:

I've been posting on multiple Piwis threads, and made a list of current vendors and prices. At least one says to email for best price, which is a good idea-
Some might be the same vendor with different websites. Laptops seem to be Panasonic(more expensive)Lenovo Yoga, T440 and T450. Ram varies from 4 to 8GB, and all seem to be I5 CPU, touchscreen, and 2 versions of Piwis software included. Most require sending in SSD for updating, the more expensive ones can be updated online. The newer ones seem to use the PT3G VCI. I'm still trying to find more info and options(windows 7, 8, 10, XP)
It's taken quite some time reading but I see some posters went ahead and bought their systems and seem to be satisfied with vendor and option.

And here's another thread. So what's been happening is some people that bought the laptops before January 2021 now have to reset the laptop date because it won't work set to 2021

So I'm observing which vendors guarantee there is no 2021 date issues before buying

Really appreciate you putting all of that together. I'll review. When you end up purchasing, definitely let us know which one you go with. I'll read through the threads that you linked too. I've read through some of them. Some guys seem to be very against the PIWIS clone since it's not authentic software, but the Durametric just seems limited in comparison.
