I love the look of the .1RS also the sound of the engine. I'm of course bias. It's Raw and simple. Only upgrades is an exhaust, & DSC Module. I would like to add .2 Sport seats one day if they ever get back in this atmosphere in price... I will only add cars to this one. I too plan to keep it forever and pass it on if I'm lucky enough that my kids would desire the car in the future. I've had it long enough that I'm sure it'll be a memory for them when they are adults.

Ive had both. If I had to pick one again it would be 60/40 in favor of the .1 RS. Handling better on .2. Liked revving of the engine better in .1. Hate centerlocks but easy enough to get rid of

Really splitting hairs. When I had .1 wanted .2. Have that now and wish Id kept .1 also. LOL first world problems. They are both incredible cars

I prefer the 997.2 but for only the following reasons.

1. I own one, so I'm 100% biased
2. They further differentiated the RS with shorter gearing, which of course does help low and midrange punch
3. Availability of carbon bucket seats (these are mandatory for me on any GT 911)
4. I prefer the newer taillights and rear wing, aesthetically speaking
5. Wider front track

IMHO the 997.2 RS is the epitome of the modern RS badging.
It is the peak of the driving experience before things start to get too electrical, numb and easy.
If you search enough automotive videos and articles you will discover that this is a near universal thought process by those who are paid to know this stuff and get the opportunity to drive everything.
The fact that there were less of them made is just icing on the cake for their owners (of which I am not one )

Both are incredible cars, but I think the 997.2 RS takes the crown and would take my money

Thank you (I love the white)!

I thought I was buying a green one about 9 years ago but the dude pretty much flaked after a $95K price was agreed on....

maybe he's still removing the mods and plans to still send me the photos

My friend and I both have .1 RS's and when we go for a drive together it is so much more exciting than driving alone, or with any other variant of car. Watching and listening to his car going down the road is a big part of the enjoyment.

I have owned both at the same time for a couple years and have owned few, both are great but would not buy another .1
.1 = Cheetah
.2 = Lion crossbred with a cheetah

Not all but some highlights, okay maybe almost all...

1 - 245/325 rubber vs 235/305
2 - 26mm wider front track
3 - 13% shorter gear ratios
4 - Shorter throw gear shift vs .1
5 - 450hp/317tq vs 415hp/298tq
6 - 8500rpm vs 8400rpm
7 - Larger intake plenum, manifolds and filter
8 - Intake/Exhaust Variocam
9 - Dynamic engine mounts
10 - Better Stability Management - Yaw/Gyroscope sensors
11 - Gen 2 PCCB's
12 - Ram air Intake
13 - Updated interior trim and PCM in black
14 - GT2 Buckets

Just a couple things:
I’m pretty sure the .1 RS did not have a sunroof only .1 GT3 had one. However, I believe the .1 RS did still have the roof rack mounting points which are “so” useful on a car like this. 🙄

I thought the PCCB’s remained the same between .1 RS and .2 RS. Just the steel brakes at the front changed from 350mm on .1 RS to 380mm on .2 RS. Could be wrong on this though.
