Sold my GT3 track car and bought a .....
Wasn’t an easy decision but I did sell my 2010 GT3 which was acquired from a fellow RennLister a little over a year ago. The GT3 was a great car, set up amazingly well, looked great, sounds even better, and a fantastic track machine.
Backstory: After taking an 8 year hiatus from going to the track I got the itch now that kids are in college or working and I have a little extra time on my hands. I knew I wanted a 997 GT3 and eventually found the perfect car from a great seller. I managed to do a dozen track days last summer and I was completely hooked again. Having previously driven a fully prepped Synergy Racing built 911 with a full cage etc. I came to the conclusion that I was at a crossroad. I know I don’t need a full cage and all the other safety stuff but I’m conservative by nature and I’m fortunate enough to be able to swing a dedicated track car. So, I could either gut my beautiful GT3 or find something different. I considered both scenarios and eventually decided that I was going to move to a Cayman GT4 Club Sport. The only downside besides selling the GT3 is I prefer a manual....yes I know PDK is faster but I’m old school and just enjoy the blip, rev match, and downshift.
Back to my search, I found a 2016 Cayman GT4 turned into a Clubsport. You may have seen the car previously owned by Geoff Isringhausen. Anyway, I came across the car on their website and after a day of conversation I purchased the GT4. I planned to give you my initial impression, review, and comparison but obviously being in the Northeast my plans were completely derailed.
I’m sharing some pictures of my GT3 and my new to me Cayman below. Yes I will miss the GT3 its an amazing car.

That GT4 is amazing, keep updating this thread

Congrats. Both great looking cars and for dedictated track work, the GT4 Clubsport is the perfect car. I have heard Merit Partners talk about it and for track work it seems like the best choice due to the safety.

That GT4 CS looks absolutely insane, I cannot wait to read about your impressions of the car. Huge congratulations to you, and stay safe out there of course.

I understand why OP bought the converted street-to-CS GT4. However, I’m curious the rationale someone has to DO the actual conversion from street to CS GT4? I guess it could have been the “slippery slope” conversion game where you do a couple of minor mods and then a year later you are a couple of mods away from having a CS?
OP, I hope we all get back out on the track soon and I want to hear your impressions.
