NO more Pcars! Luckily for me I can’t fit more than 3 cars in my garage...otherwise I may end up with a red 356 due to you

great car on paper
on road, you drive, it breaks
they will kick you out if you keep saying that
oh, I had 2 993C2S. I am a slow learner.
and every 993 variant except GT2. I don have RS but I abuse my friend's RS often.
he doesn't know how to break them.
I break it for him I don't mean break-in, I mean break it.
hahaha, be careful.
yes THE JOURNEY is the DESTINATION.
that's the fun part.
just get one of each gen and you will learn faster.

All these AC P cars have something to offer and everyone has their take based on their own personal experience. My path is is leading to a 993 C2 or C2S (added C2 based on some comments here - I'm flexible) It would be a new driving experience just like if I were to get into a 964 or 930 or 914. Maybe it goes that direction later on maybe not.
Q - Would people who have had the incredible and rare opportunity to drive all these models turn back the clock to the beginning and skip over all those driving experiences only to land on their current choice of "the best"? Prob not. Lots of driving experiences lost with that decision. For me I like the search as much as the drive. When I make a decision I buy I am happy w no regrets. I can always move on to another model down the road, lots of options.
Mooty - I love your comments. They come with a lot of experience and without your counsel I wouldn't be in my 997.2 RS.
So here's an idea - I could forget about all this discussion if you just give me the keys to your garage and let me test out your fleet

When I think of threads like these, it always reminds of Top Gear Episode 10:1. James May had the right idea, but the roads hampered the execution a bit. Buy something that’s stripped and lightened (just two seats, wheel, motor, etc. you get the point) to faff about on a really nice set of roads. You may not drive it every day or even every week, but it reminds you of what a car can do when all the non-essentials are taken out. And no, the RS is not a racer as the outside world would believe. It’s a compromise.
Might I say a tribute or racer turned back to street (half cage and proper seats).......

Mooty, we never really spoke much or compared notes along the journey but mine went: 997rs(s), 964rs, 69e......happy but not quite complete........ok, CGT. Occasionally torture myself with new stuff or other brands and come back to the above lineup as all i really want/need......ok, except a 356. I WILL NOT drive a 914 because given our almost identical journey and taste in cars, I'm 99% sure I'd be hooked. And I need another car like I need a hole in the head.
But, PS, I agree the 964 c2 is a bit squishy and soft around the edges (not AS much as a 993), but 964rs ain't so bad out of the box imo. Overpriced but not bad as-is.

Interesting. I have not met both of you but would tend to view favorably your future Porsche street car driving experience opinions. Why?
In terms of driving experiences,
My favorite street Porsche: 914
My favorite street AC 911: 964
Least favorite AC 911: 993
Prefer 901>915>G50
Ex AC 911 I would own again: 69 911
Favorite WC 911: 997.1 GT3RS
Most likely next 911: rally-spec 997 GT3 RS/Cup or 69-71 rally.
Have not tried a 964RS (and 993RS), but am intrigued especially at much lower price point. Like Ferraris much? Lol.
