Doug DeMuro on the RS 4.0

The Doug score is very flawed and inconsistent. The aftermarket wheels ruin the look of this car. It looks better in black with the decals and accents. Very easy to heel/toe in any of the 997 GT3/RS'. A legend in its own time for sure the 4.0.

I agree about the Dougscore. I like his videos, but I don't think it makes sense to try to quantify comparisons of such a wide variety of cars.
I disagree that it's very easy to heel/toe a 997 GT3, at least when driving normal speeds on the street. The brake pedal has such little travel, that it's hard to blip the throttle unless you're braking at least moderately hard. Chris Harris says as much in his review of the 997.2 GT3.

I like Doug's reviews for his details, not necessarily his style or the cool factor. He makes mistakes etc. but he's innocuous to me. I usually learn something even if it's small from his video's...

Bingo. It would be impossible to give a review of a 997.2 RS 4.0 to those of us here who bleed Porsche out of our veins. Although I disagree with most of his scores, it's obvious his scoring is meant for 'normal' cars and thus our bias doesn't really get a chance. I was happier to see the C-GT and GT2 RS rank considerably higher up, meaning at least they did break through into his higher scoring brackets (we all know the C-GT is vastly less practical than any 911 too).

Those E88s looked terrible on camera because all you could see what the silver center. I’m sure they would have looked nicer IRL but agree with the others, not a good look. Interesting how the opinion of a non-enthusiast can somehow make the greatest 911 ever built (IMO, arguably) look dated and low rent.
i never knew it came with that radio unit exclusively!
I enjoy hearing about all of the intricacies he picks up on with cars but I wish he wouldn’t drive them because he’s plain got no idea when it comes to vehicle dynamics or how to convey this in a review.

don't know Doug but I need a gig like his.
I am way funnier and more political incorrect.
as far as BBS ruining the 4.0, meh... it is the ONLY thing that improves the greatest water cooled 911 made.
gold e88 five lug 18"
silver e88 five lug 18" YES it's covered in dirt
gold e88 five lug 18"
silver mono block five lug 19"
