Comparison of 997.2 GT3 with 991.2 GT3 anyone?

To me the 997.2s are a rare mix of old school character with more than enough performance to keep a stupid grin on your face on a canyon run. Lumpy idle, white puff of smoke on start, heavy clutch with unforgiving release point. Feels like a race car to the uninitiated (myself included). And car throws you to-fro tracking a corner but still manages to inspire massive confidence. Steering feedback is sublime but 2 -> 3 shift is not. Nor is the height of the pedals for heel-toe. Exhaust note needs to be opened up with a proper center bypass to be enjoyed.
The 991.2 is certainly evolved / refined with enough rough edges left to remain very engaging. Torque differential vs. 997 feels more meaningful than 997.2 vs. 997.1. The (manual) clutch is oddly light - think acura rsx if you've driven one - and the engagement is surprisingly progressive. Much easier to drive around town...you won't stall it when half paying attention in traffic. Shift action is perfected...versus from the 997, I find myself questioning if I missed a shift because it went into gear so easily...but its always in the intended gear. Steering has enough heft and feedback off-center is proper...but with more input (ie, tracking through a corner) is not as good as hydraulic. 4-wheel steer is not noticeable (which is a good thing to me).
Progress sure but depends on the definition of "better". If you are focused on lap times or daily usability certainly. Reserving judgement until my 991.2 is broken in.

In the world of Rallye racing, 997s have not been replaced by 991s-now that the 991.2 is available, perhaps they will(?)
I'd like to see one doing this

But would not complain if it is lighter than an RS but stiffer than a turbo,

Lighter still. For a second I actually thought it was broken when I drove it the first time. I have not driven a GT4 but its lighter than any other Porsche I've driven.

My sore left knee had no issues with the clutch action in my 997.1 Turbo
