bought a new GT3 Cup pump and Cervelli mount..

The bottom of the Pump has a small dent on the bottom edge, and the pump doesn't clear the mount opening. Brought this up with the place where I got the pump from, they "contacted" their Porsche supplier and according to Porsche Tech, this dent is intentional for clearance reasons on Cup cars.

Is this true, or are they bullSh*ttin me .. Pump wasn't cheap, neither was the mount. Chris said he can enlarge the opening slightly, but I don't want to modify the mount if the pump is indeed dented.

here are pics

I can look at my pump next time I am at the shop.

Is that table a weldtable? If so, how do you like it?

The opening in the bracket use a dual rubber O-rings which snugly cradle the pump body isolating it from vibration transferring nto the bracket. The pump itself is supported via the 3 posts with rubber isolation mounts. Finally there are 4 short rubber "bumpers" that are bolted to the base of the bracket which will further provide NVH isolation (these are not visible in the pictures as they were not installed yet) from the chassis of the car. The whole assembly then bolts to the trunk floor. On my car which is a 996 chassis, this will bolt to the existing spare tire mount which is on all the 996 tubs even on the GT cars which do not use a spare tire. This can obviously bolt to anywhere one chooses but I found the spare tire mount on the front trunk floor to be a great location. My shop made up a hydraulic hose kit which will make this a plug and play set up. I am excited to finally get this in the car as it provides a super clean install.

Hi, Could you provide me this pump and also the brackets . It is for a 964. Thank You.

I’m doing this pump conversion. Where can I get #16? I doubt any dealerships would have it.

You should be able to get it from Motorsport. It's stupid expensive for such simple part, a cap with a hose and a reservoir. Last time I bought one in 2019 it was right at 300 Euro. Probably closer to 400 Euro now.

The reservoir itself you can get from the dealer for a few bucks. It's the ATE brake fluid reservoir on every 996 and many others. You need to fabricate a way to attach the hose to the cap. That's easy.

Good to know, i know the lines are rated for high pressure but does that mean the cap is also under a lot of load too? I was thinking of just drilling a hole in the cap and using an AN fitting to attach the clear hose to.

The pump cap is low pressure just like the cap on a belt driven pump. A 3- AN bulkhead fitting would be fine. I dont think there is enough thickness in the plastic to thread.

There is zero pressure on the cap. The overflow bottle is actually really not necessary. I've never had fluid go up into the hose or the bottle. You could just trap a small rag around the cap and secure with a rubber band. A bit ghetto but functional. .

Interesting, I might try to piece something together then.

Brembo makes this brake fluid reservoir for my bike so might just order a spare👍

Also question for pwderhound, regarding your install in this thread… you mentioned that you were able to use your existing holes in the bulkhead. Is this just on the 996 chassis?(id go check but my car is in the shop).

This is exactly what I did. I was getting some slight overflow before this, none since.
