Car has been recovered and an arrest is being made. Detectives are interviewing the suspect as I type.
No details were given, but I will update shortly. I thought my last memory of my car was going to be of it blasting away from me as I chased it last night. Must say it sounded great as it sped off..

I dont know for sure how the car was stolen as of yet. Car is in the possession of the police, and should have the car back tomorrow. I agreed to let the detective dust for fingerprints. Detective said this is going to be a major mess to my interior.

Fun fact for everyone - Police use Volcano ash when dusting for fingerprints. Good for detecting fingerprints, horrible for my leather..

Why do prints if they caught the guy? The fingerprint dust will and can get anywhere. It's sticky and messy.

Or a valet.

Damn! I think my old M1911A1 would have showed itself if I saw that going on in my driveway.
Yup, this. VERY easy to 3D print a key these days, even from a photo of your key. Scary. Likely valet, or valet from dealer. Sucks. Never valet park.

The metal key has very little involvement beyond twisting the cylinder. the immobilizer pill is what does the work and unlocks the cylinder. 3d printing the key would get you no where
