C'mon people, who did the climate control surround? I really want to tackle this, scared of how much masking will need to be done, unless I can take the face plate off... anyone end up doing it?

I did it! Love it. I’m out of town until Saturday. Send me a PM and I can help. You need SEM paint and some 300 grit sand paper to start. It’s really not as difficult as it seems.
Climate control buttons were easy enough to pop out with a small flat head screwdriver. Really happy with the results! SEM paint and lots of coats. Put new temp and fan buttons in but the temp is still a little sticky.

Anyone know how to color match cocoa brown interior? Thinking I would like to sand / paint all the spots in my interior that have this nasty flaky paint on it but not sure how to match!
Hi everyone.
I was looking to paint my center consol and door trim kinda like zettinger, when I install an ssk on my 997.2 c2s.
my interior is sand beige(the light tan) and ext. is midnight blue.
does anyone have a tan interior with a dark blue center consol and door trim by chance to see what it looks like?
My wife thinks the contrast will be too much.
Thanks in advance!

I have the exact same color combination in my 997.2. I opted to go black center console, all black lower dash, and black wheel/airbag. I don’t have a final picture but here it is in progress. In my opinion, the stock interior is way too much tan, and this knocks it down to an acceptable level. I think it looks great.
Yea you’ve already done the hard work removing it. Prep and painting was pretty easy.
As for sanding, you need to get the soft touch off. I had areas that started to show the white base plastic underneath. I used an orbital attachment on my drill that had been used for polishing headlights. It made quick work of it.
If you are doing a black matte coat i really don’t think it’s worth paying somebody. It’s dead simple and very hard to make any mistakes. Just do multiple very light coats 2ft away.
If your going body color or gloss finish the complexity increases so might be worth getting a pro.
Hi, Thanks for all the great advice. I am new to this job. I have DF Slate Grey interior and had a service guy scratch up my console.
I cannot find my color amoung the Colorbond LVP cans. How do I go about getting that color? Did you use the Colorbond?
Nice work. Can you share the detailed procedure to remove the lower dash parts for painting? I am thinking about doing the same black lower dash.
mcarbon did have some directions as I recall. I purchased a digital shop manual online, but the links in this thread are from that same shop manual: Remove Lower Dash
