Center console paint or leather?
I have a Carrera White/Sea Blue interior and want to do something with the center console. Eric from bumper plugs suggests painting it white and the picture he sent certainly looks sharp but concerned it will like plastic. For not much more money I can get it covered in sea blue leather and I would also do the PDK surround as well...anyone got a Carrera White with the white console?
Thanks

The leather, for sure.
I guess it really depends on how much contrast you want in the car and do you want luxury vs sport.
I have a local leather shop that will recover my radio surround panels for $150. If that job turns out well, I may see how much they'll charge for the center console. They say the do quite a bit of work for the Ferrari/Maserati dealer down the street, so my hope is the quality will be good.
Obviously, post pics after you make your choice....good luck!

I have a Carerra White with Sand interior. I threw in some Porsche blue mats. Its nice to have some contrast in a sea of whatever. With your interior I would go with the silver of the radio console or bright silver like on your door handles. It will add a little contrast to the sea of blue.

have white center console with sea blue. low maintnenace looks good. more rugged. however at 7 years im thinking of leather. but leather center would entail leather pdk leather pcm surround and if possible leather dash to make it all cohesive.. just doing one might not cut it...

I vote leather as well. I replaced mine with leather and it makes such a difference to the overall look when you sit in the car. Mine was what Porsche considers "Full Leather" when I bought it.

It's a shame "Full Leather" isn't really. I have it too in both my 997s - it's really the dash and tops of the doors, but still so much higher quality feel.
If your car has Sport Seats doing the backs in white and a white center console would look really good. If regular seats, I vote for the blue leather. See if Rob Budd at Classic 9 Leather in MI has that color as that's who I'd recommend. He did the dash, pod, A-pillars, Sun Visors, & Center Console on my 928 Spyder.
Another option if you have the sport seats would be to have the backs and console wrapped in white vinyl. Shouldn't cost you too much, can be replaced if it gets nicked up, will protect the seat backs, and let you see how it would look before you do something more permanent and more expensive. The sport seats in my 928 are CF vinyl wrapped.
Here are some pics so you can see the leather work and what the wrapped seat backs look like.

I have Carrera White exterior with Stone Grey Interior. Just gave Erik at BumperPlugs the green light for the center console, dash trim, door handles, horn surround and headlight surround to be painted in Carrera White to offset so much grey in the interior. I also ordered some Lloyd's Black mats with Silver Porsche logo to contrast the grey carpet. I'll post some before and after pics once I receive everything and put back in the car.

Can we get some pictures of these Carrara white painted consoles with sand beige interior? That's the combo I have and wondered what it would look like.
