Default Anyone buy their car without even seeing it in person?

I can't find anything in my region. Seems people love automatics around here. I am looking for an '09 or newer and under $50K. Came across this cab in Dallas and really like it, but it is very far away. Looks like there could be an issue with the passenger seat, but not sure what those two marks are? Also, can you really trust a dealer? Seems they are one of the largest dealers in the US. Anyway here is the car. What do you think? I can get 4 days off with 3 weeks notice, so not ideal for going to see a car that far away from Pittsburgh.

I bought my 997 sight unseen and had it shipped. But I bought it from an individual. Same thing with a 928. Both worked out well but I highly suggest a lot of due diligence.

I bought my 997, unseen. I put down 5k, signed all of the paperwork then drove down and picked it up. I drove it and had a 30 day warranty....I would do it again.

^^ OP, I would have Uship pick it up if you end up buying it....saves the miles, time and grief....

Maybe have a Renlister local take look at it. GL

Keep looking at Carmax as their inventory changes daily. Mine popped up on a Sunday evening and I called on opening on Monday. Reserved the car and had it shipped from Florida to DC. Looked it over on arrival and bought it. If I did not I would have been out of the shipping fee and that's it

I did last summer. Found the right one in Seattle. Saw it on a Wednesday. Made a deal on a Thursday. Flew out and wrote a check on Monday. My drive home to Denver took 5 days and 3700 miles because I was having so much fun.

Tires might be an issue if you are going to drive it back to PA. I'm sure they are shod with summers.

Bought my 997 sight unseen 2000 miles away. No PPI. Maintenance records seemed to be in order. Couldn't be happier.

I made 5 deals with PP. Talk with Eric, tell him everything you want to know and let him walk around the car and answer your questions. When you get it, it will be exactly like he said. And you can look at the auto ipack on their site and get alot of the info, you can also ask him to show you the service they did to the car and its porsche warrantee history

I would not worry about Park Place. Guy went to HS with used to be sales mgr there back when. Best bud worked there in service few years back. Back like 15 years ago went on some mission trips with GM's wife. Very straight up dealership.

Bought my '10 C4S cab sight unseen from an individual (an internet based dealer of exotics but this was his personal car). Car was in Florida. He had lots of pictures and full carfax, some records. I had him take it to a Porsche dealer I chose fairly local to him for PPI and I dealt with that dealer directly on the PPI. When it passed with flying colors, I completed transaction and had the car shipped up.

You might ask if a Rennlister will take a look at it for you.

Thanks for all the great advice. I don't want to bother anyone to look at it yet. I would call the dealer first. That car is at the top of my price range and I have not seen that color in person which makes it a little more unsettling. I will look locally to see if a Porsche has that color on it as well to see what it looks like in person. I was surprised how cheap it is to ship a car from Dallas to Pittsburgh. Thanks for that tip as well. I also saved a search on Carmax to alert me, but there isn't anything on there right now that fits the bill.

I put 5K down on mine 2600ml away. Drove in with my M3, traded it in the M3, and drove back. Took some convincing myself that it's doable, but I asked a friend to tag along and we had a blast.

Did this as well for my 997.2, CarMax makes it pretty easy, only $100 to ship interstate in Texas if I remember correctly.

Nice ones sell fast, ...so the OP should move pretty quickly.
