Was curious if anyone with a 4.0 rebuild (Vern?) in their 997 has clocked it and if so similar results to the Singer?
Great pics in the article sure...wish I could afford such a gem

Good article. Being a Jacksonville native I thought that JU license plate with a single R on it was pretty cool.

Assuming I have this correct, R&T reviewed the 4.0 (3,940 cc to be exact) in June 2015:
http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cult...ned-by-singer/
They saw a ¼-mile trap speed of ~119 mph, which puts it in the same rough category as a 997.2 GT3 for straight line grunt. But the Singer is ~400 lbs lighter than a US spec 997.2 GT3, those savings must be great to feel...
Here's the test data from R&T:
Here's a variety of 997 test results for comparison:

Just finished reading that Panorama article (using the PCA iOS app no less). Thoroughly enjoyed it, and it's an effing gorgeous car.
One line jumped out - "...more than 150 vendors and 4,000 man-hours go into customizing a Porsche 964 to reimagined and improved condition."
No wonder they're north of $500K.
I wonder what's the market for right-arms these days...

No chance a 4.0 997 build is close to the 3.3 seconds of a Singer. I'm putting out 475 HP with my RUF 997 and it's test data says 0-60 is 3.9. RUF is conservative so maybe it's a tic quicker in real life, but not more than half a second quicker.

Is the Singer that much lighter than your RUF? The Panorama article has 390 HP @ 7200 rpm. They have curb weight of 2743.
