I am not digging the mule yet, it doesn't appeal in my eyes. I also agree the 991.2 look the best in late model 911. 991.2GTS is so sexy though.

I agree that it is obfuscated and that the real thing will be less busy.

However, raised exhausts are in fashion and I can easily image Porsche stacking them that way. Exhausts are light and you can put heavier stuff below (for lower center of gravity) such as electric motors. And you have more freedom to shape the whole shebang to have a more effective rear end diffuser.

Also IMHO I expect a big push for non-wing aerodynamics from everybody. Fender venting has come on big (just look at Aston Martin and some Ferraris). Rear diffuser matters so much. They can't skip it.

My money is on the high exhaust sticking.

As for tech specs, am I the only one who expects very little difference between the new NSX and the Porsche 992?

Should we just skip 992s and go back to future to 993.1 with CarPlay delete feature?

How are you judging the lights?!?!? This is a TEST MULE. And on every car it seems like the lights are the last thing they show publicly.

You mean just like the 993 guys think they have the last "real Porsche"? Grow up.

I would say especially the front and rear fascias are still disguised.

I don't think people here realize just how well manufacturers can hide styling cues of their test cars.

Actually I'm disappointed they don't have those massive 2017 Panamera brakes. But maybe that comes later with PCCBs.

Thank you for being rational! I was losing my mind reading some of the other posts judging this as if it is exactly how the production 992 will look.

I would not say the 991 is loved.......tolerated but not loved. Lots of them are coming off leases now, and don't seem to be selling.

I'd take one, if you gave it to me for free. Wife likes turbos. But, that is not motivating me to move off my 997.2S.

IMHO...while Porsche may feel the need to keep up with the competition regarding body styles, engine design, HP, etc., I am still biased in my thinking that the 997.2 series is the last true Porsche 911 reminiscent of the days gone by. I grew up dreaming of Porsche ownership as a teen in the 1970's when the 930 Turbo was my dream car, at least our beloved 997.2's still resemble those old classics that I grew to love so dearly. Give me a 930 Turbo or a Singer design over today's 911 any day.

Exactly. It's way too early to have a strong opinion on many of the design cues, especially since this prototype is clearly muled up.

However, the overall shape and style does show that the car will be long and wide and GTish like the 991, in my opinion, versus taking a step back to something smaller and sportier. I guess that segment is taken by the Cayman, while the 911 is the 2-door Panamera. And yes, I'm aware that every generation of 911 is roasted as being a humongous cushy boat compared to the previous gen.
