Give me a 930 Turbo or a Singer design over today's 911 any day.
+1 million

The 997.2 was the peak of the 911 bell curve. 993 and 964 are equally pretty, but the refinement and power isn't there.

They looked at Misha design?
I always hated these styling company cars. This square front look misplaced. No - not only Porsche - there are many others as well. They take something of beauty and make it grotesque. Now they have no market. It's bodykit look from factory.

It will be interesting to see what the final production looks like. I do think that Porsche has an opportunity to evolve the 992 into a new product line. Make it a mid engine GT that will be their flagship racing line. In doing that, they could be freed up to create a 911 Classic. Go back to a small chassis car that is just a good sports car. The Classic could be retro, small, light and more mechanical. It could be a simple little normally aspirated 2.2-2.8L.

Yeah the only real thing we can look at here are wheel base/track, panel shape, window shape and exhaust location. Bumpers, lights, inlets, outlets, most aero, wheels, interior and exhaust tips are all camo'd or prototype material. Exhaust location is usually set by now so they can measure heat dissipation and effects on Cd. Just keep that in mind.

I agree the flattened fender humps resulting from a raised frunk area is unfortunate, but as stated before it's likely due to pedestrian crash regulations. Also, I'm guessing, the raised frunk is to accommodate space for electric front wheel motors.

That bmw camo is crazy.. seems unnecessary but I guess I understand the need for real world road tests without giving to much away.

Great pics! at least now I can see exactly how the rear spoiler works. Doesn't seem too bad now.

I stopped caring as much about new 911 models after the 997.... once the car went from a sports car with some GT grand touring abilities to a full blown GT car (albeit with sports car performance) and ballooned in size. I think they are wonderful cars no doubt but just seem, well less special. If I could only have one car maybe a 991 or 992 would be an option as the car really can do it all.... but having other cars and looking for that special sports car to climb into and feel some connection to the road think that was lost after the 997.... a 6sp 997 that is

I know I'm biased, but I have to say that I VASTLY prefer the butt-end of my 997.2 to the 992 Eclipse wanna-be (even if this is just a camo-job)

Did this .....

Inspire this...?

It is still painful to me to see them screwing sheet metal screws into the side of that car. I know it will be crushed when they are done but it is still painful.

I gotta say, I like the simple front end and clean, well defined wheel arches. And the spoiler....holy cow the whole rear end lifts up!

I know is all glue on cammo body work, but I actually like it.
