take existing measurements. and your right re the top/bottom negative spacing. if the badging is too high or too low it will not look like an oem-dealer quality job... and simply will look off, especially on a nice car.
i put all my specs here, the measurements will be off, but the process itself should be similar.

Thanks for the videos and instructions. I guess i should be "capable" of replacing the letter at the same spot but to MYW point, it will look better if the emblem is lowered a bit to center.
Ric-ko, how do you ensure the tape is curve along the contour of 911 body? That is the part i am quite confortable with.....

I had the 911 Carerra S badge removed when I bought my 18 month old 991.2. In the sunlight you could still see the imprint or residue from the letters. Suspect they could have paint corrected better but I had them replace it with new badging the same at their cost. Albeit it came in 3 strip parts (911 + Carrera + S) but they didn't use a template cos it was just visible where the letters had been.

Kudos to this thread, I had mine done also according to OP insturctions, dimensions wise etc. I thank you for all that nice OCD work you have done for laying out the procedures.
