'911S' should measure 4+3/4" inches across. note that the space between the 9+1, 1+1, 1+S is all THE SAME. also note that the TOP of the 911S should be aligned STRAIGHT. the bottom of the S hangs lower but NOT the top of the S

closeup of the finished product, always note that when done correctly, there is a slight curve to the PORSCHE badging which follows the decklid - ensuring that it will look straight from afar.

all done - sun was coming out so i took one more pic. if the badging is done properly even if you are look at it level the badging will still look flat and not frowning downwards.

factory 991 badging. note that the 911 is exactly 2+3/4" inches in width. it is also 7/8" inch high (exactly the same height as the PORSCHE letters)

always do a test fit with clear tape (and stand a car length or 2 away to make sure everything looks proper for normal viewing distance). here the '911S' sits underneath (but doesn't cross) the R and the C above. overall the '911S' is NO MORE then 4+3/4" inches in width. also note that the '911S' is all TOP aligned. in this pic i am also going to re-apply the 'S' in PORSCHE since i screwed it up the first time.

PORSCHE - 20+1/2 inches wide. 991/992 badging should be 50mm from the BOTTOM of the decklid, bottom of the badging should be EXACTLY 2 inches (50mm) from the BOTTOM of the deck-lid. Meanwhile the larger 997 'Carrera S' badging is 45mm from the bottom). *always measure from the bottom of the decklid or else your PORSCHE will curve downwards (frown) and WONT LOOK STRAIGHT

quick morning wash and clean, while adding the red S, i figured i would fix the S in PORSCHE as i had put it on slightly crooked years ago and it always bothered me.

i found this photo of a 997 with 991 badging. it was done by the dealer so the kerning and spacing is done correctly (oem quality job). it was this car where i did my measurements from for dual row 991 badging on a 997.

the 911S is 4+3/4" inches wide, and doesnt sit under the R or the C above (but the R and the C can be used as a not-to-intersect guideline). note the 911S is all TOP ALIGNED via the painters tape (as per oem standards). notice that during the test fit i marked on the painters tape where the badging will go once i remove the adhesive. finally don't forget that the height of the 911 is 7/8" inches (this will ensure you achieve a perfect oem slant).

the centre of each letter is exactly 3+1/8" inches apart from each other. i used the flat portion of painters tape used as a guideline to keep each letter straight.

since i had to reposition the 911 so i can add the red S, i had to re-add adhesive to the 911. i hate this part of the process.

all the work is in the prep. applying the letter itself is the easy part.

for dual row BADGING application, top of the PORSCHE badging will be 4+1/16" inches from the BOTTOM of the deck-lid. ALL measurements MUST be made from the BOTTOM of the decklid to account for the DECKLID CURVE. *** if you measure from the TOP of the deck-lid the PORSCHE badging will 'FROWN DOWN' and look like $H!TTTT and simply not 'OEM' ***

to stick on the red S, i had to remove the lower painters tape first. the top of the red S aligns with the 911, but the lower part of the S hangs lower.

i found this photo of a 991 with modified badging with the 'Carrera' removed. it was done by the dealer so the kerning and spacing is done correctly (oem quality $450 dealer job). i based my '911S' badging job based on this oem template. the width of the '911S' should reside underneath (and not cross) the R and the C above. the overall width of the '911S' should be slightly under 4+3/4" inches.

factory 991 badging. PORSCHE is exactly 20+1/2" inch WIDE. if you stray from this width it simply will NOT look oem.
