I did the rebadging because I think it adds sophistication, "busyness" to an otherwise spartan rear. Like I said, the 911 never really spoke to me. It was too small. From a distance, it looks like a patch of black tape. Overall, rebadging is really a matter of personal preference.
Inspiration came from this, not OCD or analness. Cheers

The original statement was that we engineers are an OCD bunch, and we are!
Now, if we weren't, the world would look very different. Ever seen those staircases in Russia that kinda lead to nowhere? Or wheelchair ramps at 40-degree angles...

Thanks everyone, I hope it's been helpful for anyone wanting to attempt this.
Dude I love what you did to the front end of your 997!
I saw your other threads on the GT3 smile vent and lower lip, but what about blacking out the two blades did you wrap them or paint them?

I used the width of tape a good measuring device a good eye and a lot of measuring, remeasuring and a ton of patience. There are several ways to do this mod, some don't look right to my eye and some due. Here is my version.

Anyone who drives faster than you is an A-hole
Anyone who drives slower than you is an idiot
btw, my PORSCHE badge is OEM from the Cayenne (its glossy, which I like a little more) and the 911S is OEM from a 1973 911S, that I just the posts off of, sanded, painted gloss black and added double sided tape. This was my plan a long time ago and then the 911R came out and I realized that Porsche broke into my phone and stole my idea. I guess its kind of flattering that they stole my idea
also, the best use of a dry erase marker is to use in this case. Marks and wipes right off.

neat project. I certainly wouldn't put an additional porsche logo on the car, but thats entirely subjective. well executed in any case.
anyways.. the correct term for visually pleasing 'letter spacing' is Kerning

personally i love the 991 badging.
saw this pic on the internet and was sold (dealer job with proper attention to kerning/spacing as well as aligning the badging to the bottom of the decklid).
after which i've done few jobs for mine and a few friends cars. the measuring, doing the calculations tape work etc etc takes roughly an hour. physically sticking them emblems on takes 2 minutes. this old album in addition to this thread may help those here whom want to give it a try. https://rennlist.com/g/album/3372540
again great oem quality job OP.
