Default Behavior from other drivers

I daily my '12 C4S to work and this morning in stop and go traffic this truck cuts in front of me and the driver starts to spit out of his window continuously. I had the windows up and don't believe any of it actually landed on the car but out of all the aggressive behaviors I experienced from other drivers since owning my P-car, this one no doubt takes the cake.

I see mostly advantages:

First - most other cars move out the way immediately when they see me in the mirror if I'm in the overtaking lane. Ok I'm in Europe but it's a huge difference if I drive my company car.

Secondly - the car get positive attention. People waving in traffic.

I have experienced a few aggressive drivers but I had that with my 80 Hp Mazda 323 in the early 90:s as well.

People in the US don't generally move over when you are attempting to overtake them. Cruising in the left lane at or below the speed limit is something that I see every day. I live in a state with a very clear "left lane law", but it doesn't matter. In Colorado, it's against the law to drive in the left lane on a highway with a speed limit of 65 mph or higher unless you are passing another car.

Los Angeles is king of rude people, ever drive near a GTI? modified Honda? modified Toyota truck with huge tires? and the worst Tesla, all with something they must prove, just not sure what that something is?

In a perfect world, L.A would be like that song by Randy Newman that goes something like this:

From the South Bay to the Valley
From the West Side to the East Side
Everybody's very happy
'Cause the sun is shining all the time
Looks like another perfect day

I love L.A. (We love it)
I love L.A. (We love it).......

But in reality is more like this:

Now let me welcome everybody to the wild, wild west
A state that's untouchable like Elliot Ness
The track hits ya eardrum like a slug to ya chest
Pack a vest for your Jimmy in the city of sex
We in that sunshine state where that bomb *** hemp be
The state where ya never find a dance floor empty
And pimps be on a mission for them greens
Lean mean money-makin-machines servin fiends

What I have noticed with my current vehicles

LR4 - I'm pretty much invisible
Maserati Quattroporte - get lots of smiles
C4S - attracts redlight racers and hillbillies in diesel pickups

I like driving the LR4 in the winter, the Maserati when going out to dinner, and the C4S on the track.

That said I daily drive my C4S in spite of the rednecks out there.

Yeah LA drivers are weird. Eight lane highways and everyone drives the same speed - 5 above limit. So you either have to be an ******* and weave through traffic or just follow somebody in some lane (doesn't matter which). I live in boston and drivers here are most europe-like. You still get your occasional left lane slowpoke, but for the most part people respect a faster car and move over even if they are overtaking other traffic. Oh and in early mornings even slow cars are doing 80 in 55.

Come visit NYC someday and you may decide that Los Angeles will only receive the Silver Medal of rude people and NYC gets the Gold (sadly).

Haters gonna hate, is the popular refrain. You're riding in a great car. Smile, be courteous. They're hating their own lives...T

Honestly around here we have no bad behavior towards Porsches that I have noticed.
Even the Supra and Honda Type R crowd show respect, some even show up at Euro Sunday events and are just regular gear heads like us.

You have money - people hate you - welcome to the new generation.

I've got everyone beat so far.

I had a lady who I had never seen before catch up to me cut me off on a 65mph highway and then slam on the brakes coming to a complete stop. I was just able to stop in time came within inches of her vehicle. SUV's behind me screeched and halted all over the place - massive pileup attempt, amazing no car to car contact. The woman looks at what she did, laughs, raises a middle finger out the window and drives off. Never even seen this person before. First time in my life I considered killing someone who I never met.

Other than that it's mostly positive interaction, usually asking to trade haha.
