Hi MkC2S

Could you post a pic of your car? Curious how this looks on the dark blue.

Thanks - Steben

I had the Magnagrafiks on for awhile and switched to the speedster style Suncoast sells. The MagnaGrafik are nice but the speedster style are nicer.

Any concern with the magnetic ones flying off at speed? I have heard of mag numbers flying off at the track

I have old clear ones on my black 997 and want to replace but worried the clear might get damaged. I tried to replace them on my 993 but it was a bitch and the clearcoat got damaged and had to repaint. Really don't want to have to go through that on the 997

Good to at least 162mph at the track....if someone had them come off...cudos to them for going faster than 162 before the corner!

I went ahead and ordered the matte black magnetic ones from
Magnagrafik.

Hopefully will look nice on my Green Targa. If not, should be easy enough to remove and resell, since they are magnetic.

Got my Magnagrafik stone guards today. Took a while, but they look pretty nice. They don't stand out too much, since the car is dark green, but right now I'm liking it. If the looks stands the test of time, I will eventually switch to the more permanent ones.

Sorry for the crappy quality pic, I'll take some more in better light tomorrow.

I'm also thinking about the magnetic stone guards. I'm even thinking of plastidip to make them in a different colour. I know it sound cheap but I have plastidipped my front grille mesh and they still look fantastic. I think the plastidip is also flexible enough when you remove the guards for washing.

I don't want black or carbon fiber. I have clear guards today on a white car but there is that fine black line of dirt surrounding them that is hard to remove after washing. Also easy to push dirt under the film.

Has anyone tried?

I got my magnagrafix and was told that they wouldn't be an exact fit due to the bottom of the oem being so low, well they were right. My clear oem guards are about an inch lower than the magnagrafix and it looks ridiculous if you just try to cover them. Im afraid to remove the originals since I read that could damage the original paint. I guess it was a waste of money unless I do remove the oem stone guards. I don't have a way to steam them off, any suggestions? Oems are starting to discolor.

My magagrafix fit the same, but on a green car, it's not as noticeable. For me, these are temporary- if I decide I really like the look, I will get stock Black ones from Suncoast.

If/when I get a permanent set, I think I may just install them over the stock guards- I've heard other's have done this, and it looks fine, since they are the same as the stock clear ones. I too have the same fear that removing the stock stone guards could damage the original paint.

I removed my 10-yr old clear stone guards myself without damaging any paint. I used my wife's hair dryer, lots of goo gone, and a plastic card for scraping. It did however take hours and I was hating life by the time I was done.
