That actually does look like a rat did it. Is that the MAF connector boot? Hard to tell from the image but looks like it. Have you checked PET? Semicycler seems to know this stuff by heart. haha I bet he'd know.

Rodents! Well the previous owner must have had some vermin. I had a Rat Terrier RIP ( my username) that would have made short order of any Rats!

IF its rodent problem, you might want to check other wires for damages.

See here for something similar https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...lp-please.html It's a right angle MAF weather boot though.

If you could remove the connector and report the part numbers listed perhaps on the backside we might be able to cross reference it to the proper Bosch part number.

Did anyone ever find a replacement part number? I'm going through the same thing, I know it's an old thread but I have same mangled rubber boot and would like to replace it.

My dealer was able to get the boot, inexpensive and installed it. Sorry. Don’t have the part number. Btw...I don’t think it was a rodent I have seen other MAF boots that were “crumbly” too. Good luck

That part number would be nice to have, my local dealer is champion and they said the harness was like 7 hundred something or to cross reference a vw or audi part number. If anyone has any other info please share. I don't think it's a rodent issue if I was a betting man.
