GoPirates, until our cars are collector's items, having a dealer-installed factory replacement engine will benefit you on re-sale. Just make sure to keep all documentation from the servicing and the replacement and 99% of buyers will think this is a good thing.

In 25 years? Maybe not so much, but for now the net result will be a higher value.

I got word back from the dealership today they got approval from Germany to put a new replacement engine in. Will take a few weeks to complete the process.

compression / leak down results?

Great news! We pay extra for CPO cars and when Porsche comes through it validates why.
I wouldn't worry about the 'why the new engine in car' questions from the next owner. You now get a fresh motor and the potential next buyer reaps the rewards.

Scoring and oil seepage in cylinder #1. It passed leak down, said compression was 175 in 5 cylinders and 170 in 1 cylinder (I assume cylinder #1).
