Default How many plan to eventually get into a 991?

I've never actually liked a "car" as much as I like my 997. It's actually quite bizarre how the 911 makes me feel like such a child. But I've recently been in a 991 and was quite impressed by the refinements. The 991 seems more suitable as a daily driver as the 997 feels a bit more raw. Up to now, I just thought 991s had great tail lights but now I find them quite appealing. Anyone else feel like they'll jump into a 991 in a couple of years?

For a daily? Sure. For a sports-car or racer? Not unless its a GT3 or cup imo.

Except for the 996, the 991 is the first 911 I don't lust for. Don't like the looks of it to begin with. The 20' wheels, the flattened roof line and the clumsy design of the rear section doesn't work for me at all. And how you find it more raw than the 997 I'll never know. To me it's the exact opposite. 991....great GT cruiser - less of a sports car is what I come away with. 991 GT3....maybe.

Huh? I find the 997 more raw.

Maybe, in 5-7 years. Used.
In addition to my 996 C4S.
Unless I first get a 964.

Had a 991 Targa fly passed me today - first time I've genuinely wanted one (outside of GT3's).

I like that the 991 is a real GT car. But I also like the perfect everyday sports car in the brood (my 997). Until I can pay cash for one.....It will be a while hahah. But the GT car slot might be filled with a Ferrari 599. Doubtful as I see TR prices rising as 599 prices fall and I hate to loose money on toys.

599 in white over beige, Cap? That'll be a rare combo. But, awesome!

Eventually, wife and I would like to get a Panny for road trips. 991 could fill that void, and keep a good bit of the fun factor. However, I'm giving my 997.2S up when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers!

I'll never say never but right now I enjoy my 997. I could see myself eventually getting a 991S with a PDK (I just don't think the new turbo engines pair well with manuals) when I grow tired of my current 911.

Having said that, I'm just as likely to add a Cayenne TT or Panamera Turbo and keep the 997.

I loved my 996 C4S. I love my 997 turbo. I'm sure I will love a 991 at some point in the future. I've spent quite a bit of time behind the wheel of a 991, and i believe that they are fantastic cars.

It is interesting to see that even Porsche admits that the sales of Carrera 991 have dropped recently. The Panorama magazine has all the details with numbers and ratios, but if it was not for the Macan, Porsche would be loosing market shares. The current and the new 991 are not selling that well.

I haven't done any research for a while, but how are overall sports car sales doing? The last article I read was about how cars in general were not selling well due to most people buying SUVs.

yeah...this. can't really put my finger on it but the overall looks just don't appeal to me. almost the opposite, in fact. it goes without saying that mechanically/performance-wise it's the best so far (i.e. in keeping with the "evolution" mantra) but the design is simply not for me.
