My -09 C4S was rear ended at a stop sign. Repairs came to $4,500 and Geico cut me a check for $3,800. Took some work to get there but not anything terribly advanced or difficult.

Give the guy whatever he wants. Then write on the bill of sale "Sold: One Porsche 911 Faberge Egg."

Diminished value is only something that you could get in certain states.

I don't know if your state has such a rule for compensation.

Since you got hit by a commercial vehicle, you may have some luck because even if it happened in your state, and your vehicle is registered in your state, if the truck that backed into you even simply makes deliveries in a neighing state (or other state) that does recognize diminished value claims, you are in luck.

You will have to do a Google search for a lawyer that handles diminished value cases, or better yet, go to a bodyshop that works on very high end vehicles and ask them if they could refer a lawyer to you.

You will definitely get compensated by the insurance company. Just go through he headache of doing it if a few grand is worth it to you.

You won't have to pay the lawyer as they usually will be compensated by the insurance company.

Good luck!

fortunately New Mexico is a DV state. My insurance man says I have the best case they've ever seen. Fingers crossed. My car is being sold this afternoon!
