Default Is this just an utterly bad idea for a daily?

I have a Borla setup now. C4. Not raspy enough, not furious enough. So x pipe ala Sharkwerks or Tubi etc? Really bad idea for putting around town?

User nwGTS has PSE and Sharkwerks bypass pipes on his GTS and it sound positively amazing under WOT. Still pretty tame around town, too.

With Sharkwerks, they work with Porsche Sports Exhaust so as long as you use PSE button, the sound will be nearly stock when flaps are closed around town. Above 4000rpm, even with flaps closed, you'll hear a louder buz. With flaps opened, there is an apparent increase in sound opened or closed but definitely more so when opened. The tone responds to throttle application mostly and is of a higher pitch compared to say a V8 muscle car tone. I think Sharkwerks has done a great job.

I have PSE on my daily driven C4S. I also have the sharkwerks bypass on order. Should be here this week! From what i've read and heard, it is just fine for daily use.

Is the question about center muffler delete on .2 ???

I have Borla on 997.1 S .... which never had a center muffler. Point being that I can speak to how a Borla sounds without a center muffler.

Ha. Love how no one is answering OPs question.

Firstly, here's my PSE equipped GTS at WOT w/ and w/out Sharkwerks bypass:

To your original question, can you clarify your current setup?

997.1 or 997.2?

Is that your car in the picture or what you are looking to do?

Really confusing OP. You need to clarify what you have and what you are trying to achieve. No mind readers here.

Intro music to the video sounds familiar but can't put my finger on it. Help me out.

So, I have 1 997.2 with a SharkWerks X pipe. Car is a DD. I'm assuming the muffler bypass would be ridiculously loud.

Fabspeed X-pipe on daily driver. A little more rasp, no drone, and just right for not being a hooligan...

Ha! No. That is not what you want. That is a muffler delete pipe. Not a crossover delete. You don't need a crossover delete on a 997.1. 997.1's don't have a third center muffler. If you want something more aggressive sounding than your Borla cans, then search around for Fabspeed videos and videos with sounds of other cans. For your case with a 997.1, I believe the only upgrade option (cat back) is changing the mufflers. You could upgrade to better cats and headers but I' just talking muffler options here.

If I had a 997.1, I'd get fabspeeds "cold air" intake. There''s room for gain plus he sound from the cabin is great. Probably little performance gains to be had for 997.2s, especially little for the GTS or x51s.

Well, I have the non-PSE on my base 997.2. I installed the Sharwerks X pipe in December and it is definitely a step in the right direction but could use some more growl. The Fabspeed bypass is probably a bit much so I think I will go with the Fabspeed side mufflers as they look to be good quality and sound more like the PSE.

I hope I don't **** off the gods of mixing and matching SharkWerks and Fabspeed!

I have the intake already.....you would remove the mufflers simply, leaving cats then short pipes afterward. If it sucks. Reinstall.

Default Subtract -26lbs

That was simple....now why do I need $500 Fabspeed pipes? Have not driven it yet. Sounds better in person.....this was quick and dirty.
