Default Looking at a 2009 C4S

Hey guys wanted to get your thoughts on a C4S I'm looking at
I believe it's a launch car.
$52k
43k miles
Meteor Grey
PDK
Sport Buckets

Only thing is there is some minor dings on the outside, paint peeling from some interior trim and the wheels are aftermarket, what kind I don't know. Tires are at 50%, brakes may need some servicing.

What do you think?

Pre purchase inspection for sure. Price seems good for a 997.2 PDK 4S, but depends on shape.

Had one just like it and loved it. All the best options from the factory except PSE but that can be fixed. The sport buckets get a bad rap from some but unless you're overweight or mobility challenged in some ways they add a really special level of connectivity with the car that can't be overstated. A little different to get in and out of but becomes second nature in a day or two. And if you decide they're not for you, they're easily sold for at least $7K so pocket $5K or better and buy a set of adoptives or whatever instead with the balance.

Definitely will get CPO.
Found another two launch cars
$55k w/ 23k miles.
$60k w/ 47k miles but CPO.
Interior in much better condition by pictures for both.
They seem like better deals if I can negotiate price down by 10%.

Bucket seats and wide body are the big big selling points. Makes the car so sexy.
Just needs the perfect wheels to complete.

Get a PPI and DME

I was looking at a awesome looking 997s - DME came back with All the up to Range 6 over revs, and 13k Range 1 and 2 over revs.

The guy will probably never sell the vehicle.

The car the OP is looking at is a PDK, so no danger for over rev

Generally true, but you can only swap with manual seats. The launch car has no seat memory module, therefore any seats which "have a brain" won't work

Better safe than sorry. I'd still get a PPI done.

It's strange that the OEM wheels got separated from the car. I would want to know what happened to them. That being said, you can easily find some OEM wheels in the classifieds section to replace them with. I have an 09' C4S and love it. Got it in April with 40k miles and I just broke 51k. The price seems about right, but with the flaws you mentioned, I don't know if I would consider it a steal of a deal. However, I'm sure someone out there would pay that asking price, it just depends on if you want to put in a ton of effort to save $2k.

I've heard there is a harness in there somewhere that's just not connected to the buckets but maybe not.

Believe me I am speaking out of experience. I have the GT2 seats in during track season but the standard seats in the winter. I looked at all the options before doing this and in fact there's only one option

If you need to replace seats, install the manual sport seats. Those are similar to adaptives but don't have power memory. Same seat as installed in .1RS. Very comfortable and supportive.

Just wanted to make sure that you're referring to this car in Los Angeles: I did not see a link or photos https://losangeles.craigslist.org/ws...333122191.html
McKenna is running special on PPI: http://mckenna.porschedealer.com/Pre...m_medium=email

997.2 C4S are great. Get it and you won't regret it.
