Default If your 911 is NOT a daily driver...

Then how often do you actually drive it, and what do you daily drive? Just curious.

I've had cars that I've made into garage queens, only putting about 1K miles on them in a year and eventually sold them because a.) I'm not a car collector, and b.) I felt it was pointless. That said, not driving my 911 every day makes each time I do drive it that much more special, and the fact that it is a black car (which happens to be my favorite color for a sports car) means that I can keep it looking halfway detailed at all times.

I drive my 911 an average of about twice a week, usually on the weekends, but occasionally during the week. I avoid driving it super short distances, avoid driving it in the rain and try to make sure every time I do get behind the wheel, I drive it long enough to get the oil temps up for a bit and at least do one or two hard pulls to rev the engine out. That all works out to roughly 5,000mi/year.

I drive a '15 Toyota Tundra the other times. Couldn't be a more different vehicle!

I daily drive an 06 Rav4 (my wifes old car) and since buying the 911 about 4.5 months I've put nearly equal mileage on each one. My work is a 45 mile round trip and I usually drive it about one day a week to work and then more for fun on the weekends. I'm averaging about 500 mi a month. When I travel for work, I make sure to drive it on the weekend and it hasn't sat more than 5-6 days in a row under my ownership.

Driving a lesser car half the time makes the 911 feel even more special to me, but if something happened to the Rav4 I would be fine to dd the 911.

My 911 is driven frequently, but not daily or consistently. Sometimes I drive it multiple times per week, and sometimes it sits for a couple of weeks without moving.

When I'm not driving the 911, I drive a GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab pickup.

my DD is a Macan Turbo, drive it rain or shine. My 997.2 turbo, 993 turbo or 68 911 i only drive when the weather permits, but if its sunny i typically rotate between my 911's.

anytime I can stay out of bumper to bumper traffic. 200 or so miles on mostly rural NC roads yesterday. I hate driving any of our cars in heavy traffic.

All the best.

I do about 4000 miles a year in my 997 turbo..on weekends now and then and the occasional drive to work about 25 miles away..

My "work car" is an 26 year old Saab 900 turbo, good old Swedish engineering at its finest.. As much as I'd like to ( and my wife certainly would like me to) get something newer I can't bring myself to part with it..

911 is my only vehicle but I only drive it for fun mainly. Walk to work, Amazon gets some items, live downtown so walk everywhere and girlfriend works next to a supermarket so she gets the odds and ends after work.

Last car I put on maybe 3k a year. Since this one is new to me maybe 5k this year. Now I drive to the grocery store 20-30 min away vs the 3/4 mile one. Girlfriends car is a Lexus land barge I don't like driving so we generally take mine unless the space or a designated driver requires us to take hers since she can't drive a manual.

I drive the 911 whenever I'm not in a suit (the racing seat might mess it up), when it's not in the shop, and when I don't feel like sleeping because traffic is stop and go for hours. I actually get bad knee joint pain when working a clutch in stop and go. Not on track though.

In that case I daily my Lexus is350. It is a complete beater but I love it. Can't beat an old Lexus for the blend of smoothness and reliability. People comment on how nice it is and I'm embarrassed to tell them it's an 06 with 150k miles. They generally don't believe me.

Daily driver is a '15 Chevy Tahoe. I drive my '05 911S as much as possible which unfortunately works out to only a few days a week. My commute is less than 5 miles so barely enough to get the temps up so I avoid "commuting" in the 911. When traveling for business I try to take the 911 as often as possible to put som miles on the car.

Drive my 911 everyday, I'm in Texas so no weather worries. Most long trips I take my too big SUV, the SUV is nice for long trips but a pain in the *** to park.

I live in Northern California and drive mine on weekends and also try and get at least one weekday outing as well. Never short trips and always to temp.

My other car is a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited... It's my "Anti Porsche!"

My commute is about 30kms each way, so enough to get the car up to temp. Being a darker colour, I try not to drive it if it rains only for a day or two, to avoid washing it. Otherwise daily in the summer unless I know I will need to pick up both kids. Other car ("winter car") is a '13 Chrysler 300S.
