Hardcore man. I gave up my Saabs years ago, but kept the screen name.

But back on topic, my DD right now is an 04 Cayenne Turbo which I picked up in August for winter duties. Still have my 05 C55 AMG too. My 911 is reserved for summer duty, drive it as much as possible, though I don't always drive it downtown as roads and parking aren't great.

My 997.1 is driven mostly on weekends, typically 20 to 80 km trips. I try to avoid shorter journeys in order to get the fluids up to temp before giving the tacho a workout at least once per outing

My weekday commute involves plenty of stop start traffic. It's either the DD (VW Polo DSG) or train + walk. Recently the latter as my teenage daughter has designs on the Polo. She can't drive a manual so my 997 is safe!

How often do you drive it?
Year round; weather dependent.
Once or twice a week on average and on the weekends.
Probably average around 5k miles per year.

What do you daily drive?

My 997S is used roughly from March to November, and I drive it every weekend. My two-year average is 4,000 miles per yer. It is garaged; most trips or drives are 45 minutes or longer.

I daily a '15 GTI, and I don't think I could have found a better car for me in everyday use. Maybe... just maybe... a Golf R or the Audi equivalent would serve me as well or better.

I am gauging my GTI against 30 years of driving nothing but well-known, enthusiast-oriented cars every day, and it competes in a way with my 997S, which I will drive to work on Fridays occasionally, now that my office is near some incredible roads.

My car is garaged, but is not a garage queen. It is a weekend car, but the last thread I am likely to look at is about Zymol, or Meguires, or some other polish-n-shine discussion. I use Nu-Finish, and I like it! End of story. 20 years after using Nu-Finish, I see Consumer Reports ranked it tops. Lucky me! Lol.

My car gets fuel treatment and a trickle charger over the winter, and I park it as far into the garage as it can get, then occasionally roll it back a few inches now and then to keep from flat-spotting the tires.

Blah, Blah , Blah!

Retired, so get the GTS out regularly weekdays and weekends. My ex-6GT3 got about 5k a year. Had the GTS a little over a year now, 10k miles.

DD is the VW BuybackWagen per my sig.

How often I drive my 997?
Mainly the weekends when the weather is good.
Bluemoon trip to work and occasional short drive after work during the week.
Around 7500 miles a year.

What do you daily drive?
Was a VW Corrado, then a Audi S4 (current until friday) and now will be a BMW E90 335i but will alternate with the S4 from time to time.

My 2012 997.2S is my fifth car. Two Tahoes and two Outbacks provide enough vehicles for my wife and me. The Porsche is a fun, weekend car, but I still put about 6 or 7 thousand miles a year on it. Until I got involved in the various forums when I owned and S2000 and most recently a Corvette C6, I never thought about mileage even on my "extra" cars. For example, many years ago, I put about 30,000 miles a year on my extra car which at the time was a Triumph TR6. I loved that car and loved to drive it. Later I put a ton of miles in a short time on a Mazda Miata. The forums have ruined me! I hate myself sometimes for not getting out the Porsche, but the drive to work is boring and the car would sit in a public lot outside all day. I just drive the old Tahoe, or if more convenient, I will drive one of the Subarus.
I still think about how much more I would know about the car and how much better of a driver I would be if I would drive the Porsche more (in that car anyway). I sometimes see folks post about driving their cars a few miles every year and talk about what a good car it is and how well it drives....really? I wouldn't know and can't say that about my Porsche because for me, I don't drive it enough to say that.

How often do you drive it?
Spring/Summer/Fall -- NO WINTER
So far weekends only, but in good weather if time permits I'd like to take it out once or twice a week -- I do NOT drive it to work though.
Only got it in early August of this year, and so far have only put ~1100 miles on it. Not sure what I will average...

What do you daily drive?

'13 Audi A4 -- coming off lease in March so I'm looking for a new DD.

Pretty much exactly this is my plan -- Right down to looking into a GTI for my new DD (though for the first time in more than a decade and a half I am considering a non-German car (Subaru) too...

I've had my 997 since March of 2012 and in that time put on 17,000 miles so roughly 4,500/year. I usually only drive it when the weather is nice, but it has been out in the rain probably 10 times. It goes on 2-3 hour work trips, back and forth to the airport, to lunch or dinner, etc. It will probably average fewer miles now that I also have my 928 Spyder which is more my DD, but also not in bad weather. If I take the wife and 2 kids, I prefer the 928 as it has a little bit more back seat space so my seat doesn't have to be quite as far forward. The kids and 8 and 11 and even with the 8 year old behind me, it's still just a bit too far forward from where I want it. My default DD is my 2001 GMC Sierra c3 - rain, snow, longer airport stints, etc. Our trip car is an '04 Infiniti QX56. My wife DDs here 997 though - 36,000 miles in 34 months so just over about 1,000 miles/month. It has also done a couple 1,000 mile trips. Now that I have the 928, the 914 doesn't go out much - when it's perfectly sunny and 75-80 degrees and I only need to take or pick-up one passenger, but I'm hanging onto it for the kids to drive - it's the car I learned in myself (same model and a lot of the same parts but rebuilt since then - took 2 914s and made 1 good one).

Funny but I also used to have a Saab 900. We should start a poll thread to see how many 997 owners used to have or still have a Saab. Mine was a '90 Turbo SPG 16v in bright red with the gray body skirts and dark grey interior - first year of the driver's side airbag and ABS brakes I think. It had a bunch of upgrades - Groupe 9 Boost Box, Sport Exhaust, custom painted an polished 9000 Aero wheels, K&N intake, etc. Sold it to my Dad in 2002 and he still has it. Think it's up to about 300,000 miles. He loves it.

Not a daily driver but do drive it as much as I can when weather permits. I rotate between the Boxster and 911 during the week driving to and from work. Sometimes it gets driven 3x a week, sometimes it's 2x, depending on how nice it is, I prefer driving topless with the Boxster on nice sunny days. I put about 5,000 miles a year between the two. I have a 10 year old 997 with about 25,000 miles on it so that comes out to about 2,500 miles a year. I have a wife and 3 kids to spend time with on the weekend so the minivan gets all the work. On days that it rains or snows, I take the Acura MDX. (Picture below next to the 997)

Nice, Airflow kit too!

Here are some of my favourite shots of my old car. It was an 88 SPG, but by the time I was done with it, it was more like a MY2003, what with all the mods and rebuilds!

I've had my cab for almost a year. It's my all-year DD except when there's snow/ice on the road (then i'm either on Metro or in my MDX). Top-down until it drops below 45F.

I've put on ~9k miles this year; probably will go up 35% in 2016 given a new work arrangement.

And yes, owned a (1998) Saab 900 SE Turbo for several years.
