On my wife's coupe, I hardwired into the roof console and she uses the standard suction cup mount up high so it's out of the way. 1st pic from inside, 2nd from outside.

I also have one of the generic mirror post mounts (eBay) in my my 928 Spyder (V1), which is the 3rd pic. That one does hang down a bit low, but the seating position in that car is deeper, so not a visibility issue.

I have the Escort version of the post mount in my truck and it's a nicer unit than the eBay one.

Thanks Stormrune - I will check that out because I know when I first looked earlier this year I had seen something about it not working with the 9500 (which I thought odd) but maybe something changed.

OP, I just realized that I posted the reply intended for here to the old radar detector mount thread I referenced earlier. Rather than repeat it, here is a link to my thoughts about BlendMount vs sticky cup in case you didn't notice the other thread update: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ctor-2.html#21

Sorry for the confusion.

I use the direct wire kit and a fuse tap, wire runs from fuses up to dash/a-pillar where I have the controller taped down - and then from there along lower windshield and I mount the detector just above the dash using the suction cup thing - I didn't care for it up near the mirror. When not mounted I tuck the wire back down along the windshield. Completely reversible.

This is more or less where I started from and my add-on notes are on page 2...

Note sure if this a widely known or not, but don't leave the suction cups mounted to the windshield when not in use - if they are they for very long, there will be a permanent round mark that cannot be removed - at least not easily. After six years, I still have small round circles on my door glass where the dealer had mounted something to the window with suction cups - maybe the sticker or some sort of advert - who knows.

Hello!

Has anyone here gone stealth-mode, i.e., hiding the detector in the dash, front grill, etc?

I rather like this idea while sending the signal to a remote hook-up on the left pillar, or on the dash with one of these:

(in case you can't see it, it's the round gauge with the L in the corner)

Lasted almost two months without getting a ticket. Oh well, it was bound to happen...

Thanks
