Making a Durametric Coding options Manual
Hi Folks
I've begun to make a Durametric coding options manual that explains what each coding item is for, primarily for the 9x7 models but a lot of the options will have the same wording for other cars so I hope this finds a wide audience. I was very dismayed at the lack of any explanation to be found for all of these options so decided to start making it myself.
Now, it is a work in progress so I will continue to update the attachment posted here BUT I need YOUR help!!
So please download the file, then if you can add information to it or you think something is wrong then either PM me or add a post to this thread, or preferably also post your info in the comments section on the docs website. If those with Pro tools could maybe take a handful of yellow boxes and start experimenting.
Items in Yellow in the file are unknown as yet, but other errors may be present. I also need someone who has 4wd and seat weight sensors to fill in the coding sections that are empty - 4wd hasn't been added yet.
I have also added my coding for my car, but don't assume it is necessarily correct.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing
Happy Coding!!

Fantastic.
Recommendation four columns:
for 997.1 Y/N ---- Verified
and 997.2 Y/N ----- Verified
The coding success is different on 997.1 and 997.2 The procedure may be different for some things although I am not 100% sure of this.

If you want to go further, I would suggest a tab "Notes on Live Values"
The reason for this is I found some live values really quirky. For example, there are a few "engine temp" buckets and some return weird character strings while others return stable values, and while others return fluctuating values. Of course, there is no documentation on this but as we discover things through usage, we can post it in there.

I would also suggest you make Durametric pay you for your time on this. Their CS is terrible. The only reason they exist is because they are the only game in town.

Can you make a quick example of what you mean by putting tabs for the live values? (agreed they are quirky and this is the place to capture that.)

Great idea - I'll include the extra 2 columns. Although some people report the opposite of what I've done for comfort windows for example, mind you unless I'm contacted by a verified opposite I'll just go with what I have done already.

Comfort Windows 997.2:
ALARM module
- comfort remote ACTIVE/on
- comfort closing ACTIVE/on
RIGHT door module
-comfort opening and comfort closing to "off"
LEFT door module
-comfort opening and comfort closing to "off"
Regarding live values, see this thread:
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...lp-please.html
In live values, the live value has a code, for example:
A020 Engine Speed
T010 Engine temperature
I recommend just two columns for now: Code/Description and Notes
You can cut and paste my notes directly into these two columns from my "having trouble" post.
If anyone is interested, here is a successful analysis I did of engine, oil, and water temps for warming up on a cold day:

RIGHT and LEFT door module
-comfort opening "Off", and comfort closing to "On". At least in my car anyway!
