The weekend could not come soon enuff, I finally had time to finish her up to my specs. I would say, she is 99% done for now. The only things left to do would be to go back and re-tweak a few minor things, like find black floor mats for the rear, I already have them for the front. I like the contrast and how they tie everything else together

I'll also be ordering another set of door sill overlays for the outer sills. Happy to say that these overlays made by a company called Design 9 are the bomb, and the best $20 spent on this 911 so far!!! So easy to install and they look perfect!

I received my custom steering wheel from Ledermans in Latvia. I chose to go w. black alcantara to match the existing roof liner and of course, to break up the sea of tan. I went w. matching black stitching, just in case I ever transfer or sell this wheel, it will work w. any interior. I kinda like the contrast of the tan airbag module. I installed the GT3 alcantara **** & boot. The boot had grey stitching, so I dyed it w. fabric marker to match the steering wheel detail. I would like to source an alcantara e brake lever eventually... For know the contrasting **** & e brake complements the contrasting components of the steering wheel, so it's all good!

I managed to scrape the bottom of my brand new aero lip on a very minor dip. So I found this cool CF trim at the auto parts store- cheap, expendable, replaceable protection to the lip. Looks great & matches the door sill overlay.

As with all 997's, there are minor nicks here & there to the painted interior trim pieces. The two that my eyes focused on the most were the "banana" shaped trim under the e brake pull and the trim b/w the cubby compartment & shift boot. So I sucked it up and plopped a Benjamin on these two pieces

Thanks man! I agree. When I had a white e36 M3, I had the LTW checkered flag livery. I have been seriously contemplating the Martini livery, but I am going w. the the one offered by Magnagrafik, which is an earth magnet "decal".

Great thread congrats on the transformation... very déjà Vu for me as I bought an '06S with beige interior last October and spent the past months doing many of the exact same interior mods!

Default I think I'm done ...

Hey folks, got the last odds & ends in the mail this AM and went to work to complete my 997 project. Got a new mesh for the ducktail vents. Getty supplied me w. what is essentially "chicken wire" that you can buy at Home Depot. Well, that just won't do for my 911, so I searched and found something that looks more appropriate and less like an aftermarket hack job. I cut two identical 12" x 6" rectangles and secured them from the underside w. 3M heavy duty double sided foam tape. Much better looking IMO and hides more of the innards.

I managed to be the winning bidder of an OEM alcantara handbrake lever! Now the steering wheel, shift **** & e brake are tied together nicely- with the contact parts in black alcantara and the contrasting trim in natural brown. I spent a little more than I would have liked, but it's these little details that matter to me.

AFTER:

After installing the inner door sill overlay and being very pleased w. the results, I ordered the overlay for the outer sill.

Now it's time to just drive her and keep up w. general maintenance.

Most recent pic from last weekend. All that's left for the exterior are FVD LED tails & maybe fronts.
