You missed Bridgestone S04.

With the Michelin PS2 currently unavailable. There is another option from that manufacturer; Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. It is listed as an "All-Season" UHP tire.

A product review company's take:

CR's Take
The top rated UHP all-season tire establishes a benchmark in this category.
Highs: Excellent dry performance. True all-season performance.
Lows: No vices.

Texas roads are such ****...driving between Dallas, Austin, and Houston and in-side those cities this year I have received 4 NAILS in rear tires. Sigh.
The ride is good. Better than any performance tire, of course. Yes, you lose some steering feel and precision, but so what? Which of us will drive more than 6/10ths on the way to work? Do we need rock-hard sidewalls at the drive-thru? They're not meant to excel in any condition, but if I were to run one set of tires all year, I'd run the DWS.

They have outstanding hydroplaning resistance and the compound stays compliant in single digit temps, or 90*f+, which is amazing, considering the tread basically lasts forever.

I put 20,000 miles on my last set on my MINI Cooper S (which is much lighter, less powerful and easier on street-driven tires than a 997, I know) before I even rubbed the snow marker "S" on the tread away.

I currently have the PS2 on the 997 and I like them a lot, heard that the PSS last longer and grips better.

I have the P-Zero's on the 981, it grips nice but it's loud unlike the Michellins.

mpss ps2 and the bridgestone s-04s are all good tires.

the p-zeros imo are poor, they are loud, feel heavy and wear out fast (at least in my experience).

the bridgestones imo are awesome; quiet and feel light… ride is very smooth too (imho).

In the FWIW dept, I spoke with Tire Rack today regarding my standing order for MPSS, and the gal told me that there was no scheduled production date. So we are SOL for now.

What do you use them for?

My tires see street and track use and I'm running the Yokohama AD08-R's and couldn't be happier.

Just street use, the Pilot Super Sports are hard to beat on performance, wear, and price.

More track than street, Maybe the Corsa's or the Nittos.

Yokohama AD08R...best tire for 997 in my opinion.

90% street. After talking more with some other 911 owners I'm looking at Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's now too. I don't drive in the rain and might be on the track once a months tops. I heard those are great.

If you're doing a DE every month, you'll be very happy with the AD08r tires. They're not as good in the rain as others and they're a little noisy but the grip is fantastic. They also have a hard sidewall so dropping the pressures for track work is great. I've got three track weekends in mine and love them. Very predictable and smooth.

I actually find the Yokohama AD08R to be quieter on the street than the Pirelli P Zero that came on my car. Also the AD08 R for me in the rain on the street is good to. AD08R has far better grip in the dry.

Exactly! Really good choice for colder climates.
