Mine just came back from the shop for this exact issue, window would not stay down when opening the door. Both outside and inside handles were affected, they changed the entire mechanism. With labor was almost $400. Normally I would have tried it my self but after hearing about all the sensors and micro switches I figured it was easer to let the dealer do it. And they washed and vacuumed the car when they were done.

It's probably the switch that controls the drop, but I am not sure what all is in there. The window still drops if I tug on the interior or exterior door handles, but it pops up. Which leads me to think maybe there is another position sensor in there that's not working?

I've searched and I haven't found anyone else with this issue. Hard to believe it's just me. Anyone seen or fixed this? Thanks.
I have the same problem but 100% of the time on the driver's side. Passenger side works as designed

If the window drops when you pull the interior or exterior handle, but pops back up while the door is open once you release whatever handle you pulled, it's the microswitch in the latch / striker assembly that has failed. That's the one that keeps the window down whenever the door is open.

More expensive, but simpler replacement is to buy the whole door latch mechanism that includes the microswitch - 3D1-837-015-C-M100

Less expensive but more work method is to just buy that microswitch, but then believe you need to solder the wires to install it. - 3BD998785 (left), 3BD998786 (right)

Double check those part #s in diagrams before ordering. Being electrical components, they may not be returnable.

Is there a link/video/DIY for the passenger rear (tiny window) window regulator? Last time I got the car serviced, apparently the window dropped, and the dealer said it was the regulator that needed replacing. They wanted a lot of money (I think it was $1200-1400), so I said no to the repair and figured it might be a DIY. The problem is I don't have the slightest clue on how to open that panel next to the back seat to even look in there.
