Dynavin N7 Pro Installed
My OEM PCM bugged out, so I replaced it with a Dynavin N7 Pro. Cost $899 plus $250 to get it installed at my local Stereo shop. I contemplated Kenwood or a Pioneer HU, these units cost $300 to $1000 plus $250-$550 for the Bose compatibility wire. I felt the Dynavin was the best Aftermarket option. All I really cared for was Car Play and OEM look.
Likes:
Looks OEM, Great fit and finish, Car Play
Dislikes:
Need to plug in phone for Car Play, No wireless functionality. Buttons light up in amber (Can't Change it), does not match the reset of the center console lighting.

Very timely as I was researching this option. Really wish CarPlay can be done wirelessly. Hopefully, a future sw upgrade will address this.
Actually, I just wish it did CarPlay wirelessly with microphone support for the phone, backup camera and nothing else. Don't need radio, navigation, CD player, usb drive, etc. Everything that I need is on my phone, including navigation, so all the other stuff will never get used. Love the OEM look though.

I have not done the Dynavin yet but thinking wireless car play can be added during the install using something like this - Wireless CarPlay Adapter Carlinkit 2.0 I believe there are a couple of usb ports on the back of the headunit you could plug this into.

Looks great. I have the same unit. Plugging in the phone isn’t a problem to me bcs I like to keep it charges up.
You can change the color of the lighting in the settings menus. There or 4 or 5 different color choices.

unless I missed it, but the color change was for the screen not the lights on the button.

I bought BKirk's old Dynavin, the one without the Apple Car Play and other things I'm not interested in, and I am truly pleased with the upgrade to the stock PCM, which looked like it was designed by Fred Flinstone. Yes, I guess it was period correct but really didn't hold up well over time. One thing I've found really great about the Dynavin is the EQ system. Once you dial it in, the sound from the Bose system comes alive and a veil is lifted. I'm truly stunned by the difference.
Cheers,

I installed a Kenwood with wireless Carplay in my 911 and the sound quality is excellent but I do like the look of the Dynavin. Looks like a great upgrade option.

Does anyone with this head unit have any thoughts on the volume buttons? Do you miss having a volume ****?

Can anyone confirm whether the Dynavin's button lights can be changed from amber to white, to match the 997 interior lighting?

Looks great. I installed the Dynavin N7 Pro in my 997.1 Cab about 6 months ago and have been very happy with it. I use the USB cable to charge my iphone so don't miss wireless. I have found the +/- volume buttons to be user friendly for adjustments. I had mine installed at an audio shop and they also provided and installed a backup camera and replaced the cabin 12v plug with a USB connector at the same time for about $500.

Smart install!
Does it have backup camera? My Kenwood PCM replacement in my previous 997S had the backup camera which was handy.
