I respect the Vette quite a bit because - like a 911 - its an evolutionary car that has existed in one basic architecture since inception. They tweak at the boundaries with an occasional step jump in capability. In many ways, Vette's and 911's are the only cars of their kind in the world: History, tradition, racing pedigree all in a single basic architecture over the length of the car's run.

I test drove a F-Type S roadster with the V6 when I was looking at 911's earlier in the year. Loved the look of the car, but to me it felt like something was missing in the driving experience. It just wasn't exciting to drive compared to the 911. I may have felt a little more engaged if it had a manual.

LOL so does the 991 to me. And the dash of the F leaves me cold. Looks Japanese/Korean econobox-ish.

I read in a magazine (I think it was Evo) that Jaguar is going to offer the F-Type with a manual transmission. The article said that many potential customers were asking for one.

I am thankful for the F-Type everytime I drive my C4S. I bought it from a Jaguar dealership. The original owner traded it in for an F-Type. I got a fantastic deal and a better car I.M.O.

I do love the F-Type Coupe and would love to have one in the garage but not without a 911 in there as well.

The new Vette is serious bang for the buck and much much improved interior. DO NOT think a 997.1 or .2 can keep up with the new Vette...it tracks at GT3 lap times and will easily walk a 997.1 or .2 S/GTS

I would feel lame in the Corvette. Too many running around with chrome wheels and cheesy drivers who wink a lot.

Pretty car but if I were in the market for a luxury GT I'll take this any day over the Jag. Can't take my eyes off one that goes by on the road. Pictures never did it justice imo.

Stunning Aston but I don't like to pay more than 59k for a car...

Not a huge fan of the new Jag, though big improvement on most Jags of past 20 years.

Love the look of Astons but different driving experience, even in the V8 vantage models, which were supposed to be targeting 911 crowd.

Vette is an achievement in price/performance but still looks plasticky to me and I'm not a big fan of even the new interior.

Love the look of these cars, but nervous about buying a Ford-era Aston. Probably reflecting that in the price.

I believe the same designer did the Jag and the Aston...
