Default Jaguar F Type S Coupe

British Racing Green

I haven't frothed at the mouth like this since the 997 debut and the return of the Shelby GT500 and Ford Boss 302.

This is the BEST LOOKING CAR IN PRODUCTION.

Jags look good but are POS's in my opinion. 2 S-types and an XK8 have been in my garage. Got to know the service writer at the dealership way too well. My first S-type was a Jag, the second was a Ford. Same crappy level of unreliability.

And, Modern Jags all look like Aston's since Ian Callum started designing Jags in the late 90's. He was the man at Aston Martin before that.

I was looking at AM Vantages and DB9's (in addition to the F-type convertible) before I bought my 997. Aston's look too much like Jags now, and I just couldn't fall in love with the F-type. I don't think I am alone because they are selling so poorly.

here in toronto jag imo is doing well, at the very least better then ever. i've counted up to 5 current gen jag's including f-type in a single day which is definately better then before.

i have faith in jag since it got taken over by tata as they did a killer job re range-rover in recent years.

the ford era was likely jag's darkest point in history.

LOVE the f-type, stunning car.

edit - @para82, WOW that car is incredible. supposedly a awd 6-spd manual is coming.

Jaguar is legendary, in the same marquee as Ferrari and Porsche.

Enzo Ferrari once said the E-Type was the most beautiful car ever built. I would say the F-Type is a worthy successor.

Just bought the wife a used Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas - drives like silk. Classic lines, true luxury, and so refreshing after testing out numerous BMW's which did nothing for me.

I test drove the F-type twice, also the new C7 corvette but ended up buying the Boxster S. The F-type is a good looking car, sounds better (V8 one) than the Boxster. But overall, I feel the Boxster was a better car, it's smooth, harsh when you want it to be, PDK is better, interior is better and it's a Porsche, I don't have to worry about reliability, resale value for the F-type is bad already, $80K plus for new selling for low 60's (V6) used with hardly any miles on them.

Happy to hear about the poor resale value, sounds like i'll be able to steal one then.

What did you think of the Corvette?

If your ok with two seats why not cross shop the F-Type with the Cayman S.

As far as appearance I have to agree the new F Type is beautiful and definitely one of the best looking cars available today. But I also think the Cayman, particularly the GTS is stunning and perhaps a bit more contemporary.

Either way you can't go wrong.

The new Jaguar F-Tpye is gorgeous, IMO. I first saw it last spring at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, FL. It was inside a room full of exotics like Ferraris, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Lambos, etc., and my eyes immediately focused in on the F-Type coupe. My problem is that I now prefer convertibles and I'm not a fan of their convertible.

I think if I were going to look for another sports car, I'd probably get a Boxster GTS or a regular Corvette coupe with the removable roof panels. My C6 Z06 was a bit much for public roads and I'm sure the new C7 Z06 will be more so. Unfortunately, the Audi R8 Spyders are holding their money very well as this would be my ultimate choice.

But, I'm in love with my 911 GTS cab so it's a moot point.

Doesn't do it for me. Very, very gimmicky and over rated imo.

been exposed to many cars like other members here. the obvious are lambos, ferraris, astins, and maseratis, but let's be real for a minute. the only other car i have respect for is the corvette. great value for investment for it's performance. although not drawn to it at first, but when you drive one, it certainly puts a huge grin on your face. the current corvette is something to be reckoned with. unfortunately, jaguar is plagued by its reliability factor.

Beautiful car. There won't be one in my garage until/unless Jag makes a manual or DCT available.
