Default Best DRL and Rear LED Lights for 997.1

Hi Guys. So I've been doing some searching on this forums on LED DRL and Rear Lights for the 997.1. Now before someone says 'do a search', I did, and the reason I'm creating this thread is to get the latest feedback from owners on what is the best DRL and LED Rear Light solutions out there.

For Rears, it seems I would go with the Dectane based on what I've read in past posts. Its sold by Carlight Pro in the USA and Orange Tuning in Germany.

The harder one is a DRL. Can people who made this conversion recommend the brand and source of the DRL?

I've heard that there are many sources on Ebay, but is there one seller/brand that stands out? Any feedback welcomed. Thank you.

All the DRLs I've seen are the same. Some sell them for $300, some sell them for $600, but I'm pretty convinced they are all the same product.

Dectane rears look more "factory" and pricing seems to be more stable. The Spyder rear ones are sold under several brands and again pricing varies considerably.

Default Spyder Rear LEDs

I went through about 4 sets of Spyders before giving up on them. Replaced them with Dectanes on both my 997s and haven't had a problem since. I have the front ones too - bought both sets on eBay from different sellers and they're exactly the same - no issues with either set. I have one set hooked up with the current sensing DRL module from Maxspeed Motorsports in an unconventional way to use the fiber optic middle bars as the DRLs - there ate posts I've done on how to set them up this way without blowing the sensitive current sensing module.

Love the way they update the look of the cars.

I have almost a year on mine with no issues, but I have heard of some issues with reliability with them.

I have the "fog light" part of the fronts setup as DRLs using the diode in the switch hack.

I have the Dectane rears from Orange tuning and front LED's from Rotec, both still working after many years. I am happy with them.

Ynot, how do you order from Orange Tuning? Do you call them. I went to the website yesterday and notice that shipping does not include the USA. I was at this site: http://www.orange-tuning.de/shop/

Why order from Germany when you can get the same lights from distributors in the US - easier to resolve problems if you have any. Try CarlightPro or FVD.

Ordered full set of fronts, sides and rears on eBay from fishcake321. Had no issues whatsoever. They really are plug and play and am very happy with them. Just followed the instructions. Have had many compliments from people who cant believe my car is a 2008.

Question

Does anybody pre-wire them for the led bar in the center to come on with the key like a day light running light?

Without having to mess with the switch?
