So we are down to this issue: Consul Spoiler Button doesnt do anything, doesnt activate spoiler up, nor does the little light on the button light up so USMC_DS1 you are likely right, faulty switch, you added a link to the part how and where can i turn to that will show me how to access /remove/ replace the switch?

This should help to provide some insight regarding how to remove the panel where the spoiler button is located.

Rear Spoiler not going up or down automatically
Rear Spoiler Button on dash not doing anything (up or down) and small active light on button does not light up on when pushed.
Checked fuse (A3) and looked good but still swapped with spare but no effect or changes.
Looked at main cable in engine and looks attached.
Anything? Bueller, Bueller, Bueller ;-)

Thanks Bob
Mine does same now. Spoiler actually works fine automatically and when activated from durametric but button does not work anymore.
And i do not care much, useless button anyway.

Bob - Just started experiencing this problem on my 997 C2S. Did you end resolving the issue? If so, I would appreciate some insight.

I have the same issue - spoiler is stuck in the up position and makes an awful noise clicking away. Brought it to the mech and found out whats wrong.
We are attempting to fabricate the rack gears instead of buying an entire spoiler system (part number 997-512-109-11) which costs almost USD 1k!

Spoiler does not retract automatically.

Rear spoiler drive assembly

Rack gears teeth have been ground down.

I have the same problem. Just bought an 06s and it came with zero spoiler operation and a few other quirks. I'll follow these recommendations and report. Thanks team!

it000 - It looks like a perfect job for a 3D printer.

Can anyone advise where the control system is for the spoiler on a 997.2 cab? I'd like to know where the position switches and motor wires from the spoiler mech end up when they leave the engine compartment.

Also would like to know if anyone has solved the spoiler button not working inside the car. Mine was stuck in the up position.

Maybe this is of no value, but here's a thread pertaining to this problem on the 993...
Perhaps there are some similarities in the design / assembly...

Another reference to bad microswitches / relays for the rear spoiler - leaving it in the up or down position (on a 996 in this instance.)

Perhaps this will lead to nowhere. Hopefully it may help.
