Now he is 120 #'s (he was puppy in pic), he doesn't really fit in the car in general. But the back seat is a no go which makes afternoon drives to country/winieries with the dog in my Wife's MB SUV a bit more of a boring drive.

Default Product needed

This is a solution waiting to be engineered. I want to go on road trip with my Border collie. Thinking of using the blanket thing, maybe will come up with something better. 2017 Turbo Cabriolet. Black with red interior.

Have you seen Jeff Zwart's IG? HE takes his Bernese Mountain Dog in every porsche ever made. I have seen him with his dog in the back of a Gmünd 356. By my estimation, that is a million dollar car. No fvcks given!!

We should all try to be more like Jeff Zwart.

My 20lbs. dog wants to climb up the side of the car to see out the window. I have extended leather, so that is not good with his nails. He also wants to come up front to sit with my wife. I put some blankets down in back and then I make his ability to move around limited with a leash that connects to the seatbelts...partially because of him climbing up the interior but also because one time I was driving with my dogs and someone cut me off super bad. I had to stab at the brakes but I wouldn't call it panic braking. In any case, my little 10lbs. terrier hit the dash. She was OK but I was horrified. Also, my 20lbs. dog is a moron and will jump out of the window of a moving car if he gets excited...so, he also gets leashed in. I have not tried folding down the seats. I just have them sit in the seats with a leash connected to the seatbelts. The rear seats and sides leading up to the windows are still MINT.

I had the dog transport challenge many years ago. I purchased a cargo organizer made from rip stop nylon. It fastened around the head rests to form a box shaped compartment in the back. With the bottom cushion removed, it made for a fairly flat surface and the kept the dog from falling into the foot well.

Default Thank you

Thank You for Idea!! Will be looking at this week. What a great idea. If I combine filling foot wells with towels etc with cargo organizer I thinly it just might be the trick.

my dog isn't allowed in the 911, that's what the Q5 and A6 are for. 😃

I ordered a custom cover craft one from autogeek. It’s very nice. I have not used it yet. The thought of putting my lab in the 911 makes me cry. Kids are in camp and I want to take the car to the cape house, so either the dog goes in the car or it won’t get driven….

it really isn't too bad
Just push the front seat all the way back
cover the seat with the seat cover, maybe a extra towel on the bottom section.
put the dog bed/towels in the footwell to make a flat surface with the bottom of the seat
Cover the surrounding area with a blanket.
use a dog leash that attaches to the seatbelt (cheap) to make sure he stays.

It will be a nice bonding session.

And you will have your 911 at the Cape.

Hope it works out!

Cheers,

the one I bought is for the back seats. Wife will be riding shotgun. I will use some towels as well to help prevent him from scratching the plastic getting in and out. I’m sure it will be fine.

I guess the option of wife in the back seat and dog upfront...... Just kidding of course.

Sounds like you have it covered (literally). Have a great time without the kids!

Nice Westie! So is this essentially just the rear seats folded down and covered with a blanket? I'm looking for a similar solution for my Dog, also a Westie, who gets car sick if she can't see out the window and while we have a nice solution for the wifey's truck, its not the same taking road trips.. I want to drive my car
