Kenwood Excelon 7 LCD (DNX 892)
    Hertz HDP4 amp (4x150)
    Hertz HSK163.3 (6.5" 3 way Speakers)
    Hertz CCX100 (4" coaxil speakers - Rear)
Plus, harnesses and steering wheel controls

Car Audio Innovations did the install. The double din fits perfectly in the space and it has a bezel that makes it look factory. The Porsche logo even pops up when turning on the system.

The Bose speakers are really CHEAP. They sound muddy IMHO. Bose does weird things to modulate the sound. Many have swapped speakers and found satisfactory results. Perhaps you should swap speakers first? If you still don't like it, then swap amp and head unit. It is not a simple swap bcos of the PCM unit. You will also need a converter from digital to analog discussed in the threads. Find more info by doing stereo or speaker upgrade/replacement search.

Let me know if you have any more questions. Forum can be rough sometimes.

    HI PVP997

Thanks for your post, sounds like you've done what I would like to do.
I would like a unit with a touch screen GPS, IPAD/USB port, CD, Blutooth.
I don't really want to do any cutting or modifying as I might someday like to put the original unit back in.

What unit did you install? I know I would probably be happy with the Bose speakers but maybe different amp might be required.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks
    Jim
