What would you do??
I just picked up a beautiful 07' C4S with 59K miles. I changed plugs, coil packs, brake fluid, filters etc. and the car runs beautifully. I love it more every day I drive it.
My wife just OK'd a raid on the piggy bank and now I have the ability to "upgrade" after just a month of ownership (second Porsche). Knowing a little more about 911's I am thinking about the following:
1) Keep the 07' C4S and be happy, DE it once or twice a year and have fun in it.
2) Get a low miles 09' or '10 C2S so that I can get a little more power and lose the AWD weight and complexity.
3) Get a low miles '09 Turbo so I will have huge horsepower (which I always like)
I just pleasure cruise and do road trips with the local Porsche club and do a few DE's per year. This car isn't my daily driver. I don't want the Turbo if it is a maintenance hog but I'm not that familiar with the Turbos' issues.
What would you do??? Thx

Depends on your financial position. My experience is that when I buy a toy, my wife suddenly experiences a desire for something in the same price range. If you are in a position to write a check for the new purchase without it bouncing, go for it. But if you are talking about financing it, stick with and enjoy your '07

"Danger Will Robinson. Danger." It's a trap... she wants to see what you'll do given the opportunity. JK. Test drive both the C2S and TT to determine which car you like better. In fact, bring her along to help with the decision making process JIC it is a trap. GL.

Keep what you have. The turbo will be twice the maintenance expense of the Carrera S. (Although the Carrera S is fairly inexpensive comparatively for maintenance).
Don't keep moving around trying to figure out what you want. You can chew up a lot of money doing that needlessly.
Get to know that car. It's a tremendous car. Unless you live in Germany, the capability of the 997 Turbo will only cost you a great deal in speeding fines. It's simply something you can't really use in the USA and you would be tempted all the time. Trust me. (I'm in my 5th decade of Porsche 911 ownership).

#1 with a caveat. Look, you just got a 911 and your wife okays an upgrade after a month. At the risk of sounding manipulative, why don't you just use the "raid on the piggy bank" to get her something (or maybe you did whe you got your 911). Anyway, a little sacrifice now will pay back with interest down the road when that GT3 grabs your attention.
