I'm interested - could you email me at alavelle01@gmail.com ? I'd like to see any more pics you might have - and do you have a carfax? I lost my 993 in a collision recently (was't driving it) and am in the market for a 997. On the bottom right of the front hood - are those marks in the finish, or just schmootz on the picture?

    thanks!

Thanks for all of the intel. I'm going to have to rethink my gameplan for which car to go with. The tires on the C4S were worn down so I think someone took it to the track after you sold it and had a lot of fun wearing out the tires

I think Bluegrass is holding on the price because I just happened to show up to the dealership on the day they listed it and they figured they had a car in high demand?? Oh well...

I've heard similar comments about the Turbo exhaust sound.... Seems like a Borla exhaust and ECU remap might fix it.

    Anyway, thanks again!!!!

It's said that one should "buy the newest Porsche that's within the budget"; assuming you're not going vintage, you should drive 997.2 for comparison. That being said, I would NOT have traded this '06 C4S/X51 on a 997.2 C4S with less options. I drove my friends '09 and wasn't that impressed...the sound SUCKED compared to mine and the power delivery, while smoother, didn't feel as strong. Yes, it had more advanced bluetooth (I added a tooki to mine) and iPod connectivity (mine has a more basic connection, but it works with your iPhone/ipod), but even it's more electronic AWD couldn't sway me. My car just felt better, especially with its sound and short-shifter. The turbo put me over the edge as I figured this was my chance to get a KNOWN car with options I could only wish for (the thing only lack seat ventilation, but has heated seats--not exactly an important option for me)...Let me know how it works out for you--take care.

I can't imagine why they wouldn't sell it for the upper '40s...Because I traded it in and then bought the 2010 with a CPO and shipping it to NJ and the '06 back to KY, I paid about a $60K difference including taxes et al...It's hard to say exactly what they gave me for it because they can adjust the numbers as they want, but if you're thinking $42K-$44K you're probably in the right ball park. I purchased the '06 C4S in 2010 for about $65K...I figure I paid about $25K or maybe a bit less to have it nearly 4 years...I can live with that. That includes new tires/service/etc.

Hey--I just saw your message. The tires are very new Michelin Super Sports with less than 1000miles on them; they've never been tracked. The car has seen two HPDE weekends in NJ in 2010 and 2011....The right rear wheel was curb-scraped with a small chunk of rubber taken from the tire, but it's fine and only noticeable to those who look closely (aka Porsche-geeks...). The sunroof was COMPLETELY replaced and paid for months ago by the local Porsche dealership....Honestly? The car was great and I had no intention of parting with it so soon...I got to know the guy who owned it before me and have been in email contact with him since. He traded in his 2010 turbo for a 2014, and he arranged for me to have first dibs on it from the same dealership in KY where he bought the '06, and then where I bought the '06 in 2010!
