I don't care for the 991 car shape and personally never cared for the 911 cabs in any model but I do like this new targa. It is amazing how you either love it or hate it. Very few on here or the larger Targa thread in Off topic are indifferent to it. Very polarizing design.
I think most cab guys think it's not as good as the cab, which does open air better but the coupe guys like it more as it retains the more classic 911 design

I always loved Targas and I know that one day there will be a 964 C2 Targa in my garage.
I like this one too, but I am a bit scared of this super-complex Rube-Goldberg machine; that GOTTA break as soon as the car is out of warranty ;-)

Looks great and a nice nod to the original targa style.
Not sure how functional the rear mechanism is in terms of access. Like storing golf clubs. I'd prefer if the top over the passenger compartment was body colored and solid.
Would prefer over the 991 cab.

I like it, or I should say I appreciate it. I'm not a convertible guy. I just see added weight, and motors and hinges that break or stop functioning. The struggling engineer in me want to see and feel it in person. They will sell lots of them, but not to me.

I love the look of it and I've always loved the different Targas!
But arent other companies getting away from the complex retractible hard top idea? Too heavy and too complex when things go bad? We shall see.

For some reason, the first think that comes to my mind when I see this car is a woman with a headband! Its a ladies car.. thats what it is! ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

On the flipside, the 991 targa doesn't spoil the shape of the car. Previous targas, especially the air-cooled ones seemed to have different lines - which spoilt the beauty of the rear in my opinion. The new targa looks to have the same lines as a coupe.
But if you look carefully, the car is just another convertible. The roof folds into the back just like in a convertible. Is this just another gimmick for brand marketing, or does the car really have some unique characteristics?
