Good grief. That sucks.

Looks like pan damange only. The pan metal is thin.

Makes sense to consider a skid plate.

BTW. I hate garages. Recently had my front bumper resprayed after a minor bump from another car. The shop (International Body – Elmhurst IL) did an excellent job. To my dismay, I scraped the front bumper on a parking garage exit ramp one week later. It was so steep that even a slight sideways descent didn’t help.

The position of the hump = impossible not to bottom out.

Does the above help in the insurance claim?
A bunch of photos will be your friend here. But yes, all of this info. will be useful. Ultimately, it will be up to your insurance adjuster to make the final call. This looks like a case where they have a lot of discretion, so be sure that when you talk to the adjuster, he/she is your best buddy in the world.

Pure Austin Gym parking entrance. Its the Spring Condos's on Bowie ST building entrance.

Someone parks a black 991 at the bottom (different entrance) instead of going up to the gym. I am guessing, that could be the reason why.

You can release the PDK gear selector lever manually by the following procedure (refer to your owners manual in the towing section for details)

PDK selector lever emergency release
In the event of an electronics failure, the selector
lever must be released for towing.
1. Lift up the rubber mat in the oddments tray.
2. Insert a screwdriver in the opening and press
down until you feel it reach the limit position.
The selector lever can now be moved to
position N.

Super helpful! Thanks. Interesting that the dealer and workshops didn't know about this.

Yeah, I think all the Austin guys (me included) are glad to know about this idiocy so we can avoid it happening to us, too. Sorry this happened to you, man, that blows. Sounds like you definitely have a legitimate claim to go after the building management with.
