Hit a protruding nail broke the oil pan. Turned engine off immediately. Now stuck in park. How do I get it out of park?

Do you has an automatic? Tell us more about the car... year, model, PDK or MT, etc. Is the oil drained from the engine at this point?

Turn key to position just prior to start. Foot on brake. Move gear shifter to neutral.

When you discuss this with your insurance company, keep a few things in mind:

1) if the nail was stationary, it will be considered collision.

2) if the nail was moving, and you struck it, this will be considered comprehensive.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

Thanks all. Luckily a few car enthusiasts driving by stopped by to help. One had a 991 and offered to use his car to help figure out how to get it out of park. Just turn ignition one click then pushed to neutral.

Took 8 guys to push the car out (on an incline).

It's a 2012 4 GTS.

Big crack on the bottom of the engine about 2 inches. Ill try to take pic

That's a big gash, you must have hit something substantial...
I have seen some metal protector plates, would those have helped in this situation. Does anyone use them..
