My 997.2 still provides me the smiles after 4 years. I want to use her as often as i could. Essentially problem free: squeaks and rattles that have all been eliminated by the dealer, squeaking spoiler mechanism, rattle from the front suspension arms, fogging light clusters, airbag fault that just came up....my point is these are very minor things in 4 years! Hey its like those japanese cars that just run and run and run and that for a sports car is a compliment. Porsche got it right with the 997.2..performance economy ease of maintenance reliabilty. We have got it all! Cheers!

I almost traded my GTS for a GT3 and then decided to keep it. Happy hanging on to this one.

I ordered my '09 997.2 C2S Cab PDK as soon as the order guide showed up at the dealership. I ordered it with what I wanted but it came without Sport Exhaust because Sport Exhaust was not yet available during build in September of '08.

OldGuy, you described exactly how I feel today. I was 65 when I ordered it and can afford a newer, but have absolutely no desire to give it up. Like you, I have to pay close attention to allow adequate clearance when I stand on it to pass a slow mover. But, when out on days like today, with the wife along and the sun out, top down, driving around in normal automatic mode it is a completely different car. I love both.

Never getting rid of my 2012 4GTS...I watched my wife drive away in it today (one of the only times she's ever taken it out) with PSE engaged and the thing was literally blowing my mind. The 991 just doesn't give me the same feeling...it lacks the aggression of the 997!

Have a GTS...never satisfied. I want to drive a GT3 or Turbo and experience those.

Very satisfied with my C2S but I think the GT3 and turbo do carry some appeal that I can't ignore. Hard to complain on the whole when I am so happy as it is.

I usually change cars every 2 years or so, the only exception so far is my Shelby I have owned for 5 years now, I still love it. I am hoping my 911 follows the same path, time will tell. I am still making it mine with some Mods, I love to drive it, have put 6000 miles on it this year alone.

The only thing that might pull on me is a Cabrio, part of me wishes I had gotten one.

Some great responses here! Confirming I got the right car!

I've had mine about 7 weeks and I still love it! I only wish we had more 997's for sale around here. I too would love to feel the difference in a GTS, turbo and a GT3. Having only driven 997.1 cars before taking delivery of my 09, needless to say, the car is FAR more than I expected.

My car still gives me goosebumps when the *** end skips out.
.....truer words have never been spoken.

The hardest part of driving this car is waiting for the oil temp gauge to break free!

I'm new to the 997 fold and think it's a great car. That being said a few years down the road I will be looking at a 997 Turbo, C4S or GTS.

One reason I'm satisfied with my 997.2 is that it's interior is unique for the 911 997 range. No other model has it. But the newer 991 shares similar interior even with the new Macan!

You 997.2 owners need to start moving on to the 991 so that the supply of quality used 997.2 cars will go up and the prices will start dropping so I can buy one

Got into a 997.2 C2S cab PDK a week ago from a '05 996 C4S Tip loaded( 3 yrs). Went today for a 3 hour country road drive. What a difference! The 997 is a better car in every respect: engine, power, trans, suspension and even the stock Bose highend are better than my old aftermarket Pioneer Avic + 2 Alpine amps. I'm in love again.

The 458 is abit of a cheat in this thread. I have seen one and it is sex on wheels but those F guys
never actually drive them. I think they drain out the fluids and hang it on the wall in their bedroom.
Those guys who are itching for that grass is greener on the other side of the GT3. Dont worry about it.
The C2S PDK/sport chrono is as fast as you will need. I came out of two consecutive GT3s and outside of the noise missing its just as fun. 3 Cars in one. Mode #1-wifey mode Mode #2 with Sport engaged its very close to a GT3 Mode #3 Track car mode. The suspension tightens up and its more like a Cup car, wont shift till redline. Its the ONLY non GT or Turbo car where I read threads on the 997 GT3 site about guys complaining about how hard it is to catch a 997.2 C2S at the track. Some of the guys thought the new car was cheating some how.
