Anybody feel satisfied with your 997?
When I bought my car in 2009, I had been in and out of GT3's (one 997) and turbo. THey were all flashy and fun to drive. But I seem to have whats next.
After my first 911 was the 993 turbo, then after going to the track I had to
get a GT3, then the 997 GT3 because I told wifey it had better seats so off
to Carlsen and another GT3. I was going to buy a GT3RS pumkin car, but I stopped off at my local dealer and I drove a white C2S with PDK and sport Chrono.
I fell in love. THis car has some MEAT!!! But I have had it for 4 years! Longest I ever had one. Funny thing, I dont feel the need for another or the latest and greatest. I have a car with three different characters in it. Normal and Sport and sport plus. All three are different. And have more speed than I need. I went out to pass some one the other day on the hiway, and it was SO fast I almost nicked the trailer infront of me, the C2s Pulled out there so fast caught me by surprise. Got me to thinking this might be my last 911. That doesnt mean I cant get another.
I just dont want to get ride of thise one!!

Ditto here on my 06 997.1S. Had a gt3 before this and have had this car for almost 7 years. Love it. Was really glad to get back in to it after I test drove a 991s.

Love the 997! This is my second and definitely my last 911. Ordered a PTS....leased it then for the very first time bought it. 2010 C4S Cab with 26,000 fun as sh*t miles on her.
Long way to go both in miles and years (I hope). She leaves nothing to be desired!
We're all lucky ducks...no?

Hands down it is the one car I've owned that makes me wake up thinking about driving it everyday. I'm with you sir, this is likely the one I'll have for a very long time. For what it's worth, the the 09' > present 911's do not have the same visceral feel and buddy these things are purely subjective!!! We like what we like!

I was very lucky to find my 09 911S PDK loaded with 2k miles on her just over two yrs ago.
Best car I will probably ever own. And I get reminded of that every time I drive it.

Seriously, I did an ~125 mile loop from Inverness > Petaluma > Santa Rosa (River Rd.) > Guerneville > Bodega > Inverness on Saturday and if you are familiar with the awesome 2-lane stretch between Guerneville and Inverness, as you know there are a number of passing lanes that are just long enough, some with undulating hills...oh my, the (Carrara White!) '10 C4S is so responsive (especially with the 3 fun switches engaged) that every time I was able to materialize in front of the herd, my face hurt and I could swear that the folks that I had just passed must've heard me screaming for joy that Porsche got it so very right with this vintage.
We would be lucky P-car pilots and all that I can say to you sir is GO ENJOY U.S. 395 (or wherever on the East Side) and don't look back!!!

I never keep any car more than 3-4 years. Now have had my 2009 for just over 4 years. Keep looking around and i keep getting antsy, but I am not sure i am going to do anything for a while. The 997.2S is pretty amazing. It feels faster than advertised. Its really quick and as you say has 3 different personalities. I sorta laugh when 991 guys say PDK is much better (or totally different). It is better but really only when you drive in auto. I drive in manual mode - 99% so its pretty much the same. Push the lever and it changes up a gear (and fast in sport plue) and vice versa. The 991 is much better in auto and a bit smoother.
I just put a tubi on. Brings it to life a little bit more. Its definitely a step up in volume and I'm on the whole impressed. Maybe a bit much for me but hey it is a sports car. I have another car to be quite in. Have gotten a few thumps up on the road - believe it or not. Sounds a little Italian.

I love mine, but I'll put enough miles on it to use it up fairly quickly. I hope that whatever 911 is available in a few years meets my needs as well as the 997 does....
That said, the one thing that I would absolutely change is the audio system. The Bose in mine is absolutely terrible - nowhere near appropriate for a $100K+ car. The Harman Kardon in my wife's Mini sounds FAR better.....what's up with that? Maybe I'll go with the Burmester next time around, but the amount of "Porsche tax" on the Burm is just excessive.
